Chapter Seven: Barry West-Allen and Ralph Dipny
Central City, 2019, Central City Woods
" Guys, I still don't feel very confident about this." Ralph said into his comm.
He was walking around the Central City Woods looking for Savitar, which was creepy enough on its own, but what he was truly scared of was what would happen when he did find the iron giant.
" I really don't feel like I can take him!" he panicked.
" Stop complaining, I'm trying to help you and Barry at the same time!" Cisco yelled through the comm, clearly getting tired of Ralph's rambling. "Besides, you're almost to the spot where we picked up Savitar's signal."
" Yeah, that's the point!" Ralph whisper-yelled.
All he saw around him was tall, looming trees, one after another, and he didn't know if/when Savitar was going to just pop out from behind one of them.
" I'm over here." said a robotic voice.
" I could hear you yelling almost as soon as you breached here. Not to mention the fact that you walk about as quietly as a gorilla."
Ralph stood perfectly still for a moment, before peering around a tree to see Savitar standing in the middle of the clearing, staring right at him.
Oh no.
" Sorry but, uh, nobody's sneaking around here tonight," Ralph called, making his voice high-pitched and girly.
" You might want to just go back to what you were doing and pretend that you never heard anything."
" Catlin and Frost wanted me to tell you that the beating that you're about to get from Savitar will hurt much less than what they're going to do to you when you get back." Cisco said through the comm.
" Hey, maybe it'll work." whispered Ralph.
Almost as soon as the words left his mouth, there was a loud SHIEN noise as the tree behind Ralph got cut down the middle, both sides falling in opposite directions. Ralph turned around and saw Savitar standing right in front of him, towering above him, with both of his blades out.
" I'm sure that we can work this out peacefully," Ralph trembled, as he reached his hand out and put it on Savitar's chest.
" Right amigo, buddy, pal?" Ralph asked hopefully as he looked up at Savitar's helmet. Savitar looked down at Ralph's hand for a moment, and then looked right at Ralph's face.
Moments later, Ralph was thrown through a nearby tree, smacking the back of his head against another.
" Ow! That hurt!" shouted Ralph as he got up, rubbing the back of his head. Savitar appeared directly in front of him, and boomed as he looked down on him, " How did you think this was going to end for you?"
" Oh, I don't know," Ralph said, looking up at the sky.
" Maybe like this!"
His fist collided directly with Savitar's midsection, and Ralph felt a brief moment of triumph, before he felt pain jolt up his arm.
"Oooowww!!!" he exclaimed as he stumbled backward, holding his hand.
" Idiot," Savitar stated sarcastically. He swung his blade at Ralph, who was just barely able to dodge before it cut his neck.
" Any ideas?!" Ralph shouted into his comm.
" Don't die," suggested Cisco, clearly preoccupied with something else.
I'm gonna die today, aren't I?
" Well it's been nice chatting with you, but I should really be leaving now." Ralph said hurriedly as he turned around, seeing that Savitar had already blocked his path.
