-The Race of this Time-

Stepping back to observe the banner, Dealla nodded with a satisfied hum, turning to look at Nathaniel for confirmation.

The redhead only smiled in return, admiring the artwork they had made for Alix and Kim's race. Well, it was mostly a banner for Alix, but who's complaining when it's made by the two best artists in the class?

Dealla glanced at her wristwatch, "We have ten minutes before Alix arrives from her date with her pops." she started, turning to Nathaniel with an eyebrow raised, "Wanna go get gougére?"

Shrugging, Nathaniel starts packing his things scattered in Dealla's studio, "Sure, why not?"

Two minutes late, Dealla and Nathaniel finally arrived from their supposed 'short detour' to a nearby bakery. The brunette patted Nathaniel as she left his side with the banner in hand, giving the other end of it to the first person she sees—which was Nino Lahiffe.

They unfolded the banner, and the others gasped and awed at the masterpiece. Alya took a picture, whistling, "Amazing work, Nat and Dealla!"

"Yeah, no problem," said Nathaniel shyly, hugging himself slightly.

Dealla closed her eyes to stop her from rubbing them. Bags were under her eyes and she wants to drop dead right then and there, but she held back herself as turned to see a black kitty sitting on a bench behind the race track, effectively dissipating her fatigue.

Just this day. It's Alix's birthday.

Everyone finally settled, greeting Marinette who ran toward the group at full speed. The girl put her free hand to her knees (the other hand holding a tray of macarons), panting, "Sorry—" a huff, "—I'm late."

Alya chuckled, swinging an arm around the girl, "No sweat, babe. Alix isn't even here yet."

Dealla scanned the crowd, and indeed, Alix still isn't here yet. Her eyes landed on Adrien, raising a brow when he noticed her stare. "I'm surprised you're here," she quipped, making Nino snort in agreement.

"I forgot to ask you about that, damn." muttered Nino before smirking at Adrien, "You sneaked out, didn't you?"

Adrien rolled his eyes, smiling as he neared the two, "No, it's my free time after photoshoot." he said, standing beside Dealla, looking at the paper bag in her other hand, "Can I have whatever is inside that?"

"No."

"I'd like some too." said Nino as he sniffed, humming, "Smells like gougére."

The blonde gave Dealla a hopeful look, to which she returned a blank one. She sighed, reluctantly holding out the bag of said pastry to them. Adrien and Nino smiled, both eagerly taking a piece from the paper bag.

"You and Nathaniel did a great job with the banner," said Adrien before eating the round snack, humming in delight. Nino nodded in agreement, still chewing, lightly shaking the other end of the banner as he did a finger gun with his free hand.

"Merci."

Kim finally arrived, raising a brow at the posters and slogans dedicated to Alix by his peers. He went to the starting line, stretching his legs, "You all picked the wrong side to cheer on." he started, smirking, "Looks like Alix isn't even showing up! Probably too chicken to race an extreme athlete like me."

As if on cue, the said gal rolled toward the smug male, her own smirk on her face, "Spoke too soon, Kim." she said, and the others cheered, "Your ridiculous bets are over. I'm gonna leave you in the dust, meathead!"
