Many centuries ago, magic jewels bestowing extraordinary powers were created. These were the Miraculous. Throughout history, heroes have used these jewels for the good of the human race. Two of these miraculous are more powerful than the others.
The Earrings of the Ladybug, which provide the power of Creation, and the Ring of the Black Cat, which grants the power of Destruction.
As such, these precious jewels were sought out by the unworthy and those who crave chaos... but the Guardians are here to protect each and every Miraculous from the hands of evil from generation to generation.
According to legend, whoever controls all these jewels at the same time will achieve absolute power...
And the legend bore truth.
One fateful night, a woman lost her husband through a journey everyone believed was worthless. A journey full of nothing but false hope.
The widow found her dear husband's rotting corpse with a large hexagonal box beside him buried beneath the snow after months of snowfall.
The villagers couldn't get any more news of the couple. They wrote transcripts and different stories of the husband and wife, leaving their story without an end.
The woman and the man were found lying hand in hand many decades later by traveling monks. Flawless faces holding expressions of content, their wedding bands are as good as new.
The monks believed they found them through a miracle. They were dead, yet they lived. Years turned to decades, and decades turned to centuries, with various cases of people finding random bruises on their bodies, dropping dead so suddenly, and falling out of marriages. Many wonder what this phenomenon could be.
Only the Guardian of Miracles knows.

The moment she turned twelve years old, a heavy burden was suddenly placed on her shoulders.
Young Alessandra Seinfeld held her father's hand tightly, hiding behind his towering figure as he gave a basket of fruits to an old man. He was very short. Even shorter than herself.
Yesterday, Mom and Dad threw her a pretty party. Her best friend Chloé was the only one invited, though, but she brought her other best friend, too. Andre? Aiden? He was there only for a short while, so the brunette never really got to know him.
Chloé said he was very kind. Alessandra smiled at the thought of the blonde girl. She's mean at times but would always say sorry whenever she hurt Alessandra.
"I can't thank you enough, Master Fu."
Alessandra looked up as her father bowed to the short old man, who waved him off with a wrinkly smile. He looks funny.
"I am very sorry for putting you through this, child." The old man—Master Fu, as Alessandra now knew—said to her father.
Dad has a frown on his face. "If you weren't there, we wouldn't be here." He said with a heavy tone. "And as I promised, my daughter here will be your protégé until the time is right."
Alessandra tuned them out, retracting her hand from her father. She turned to a small bruise on her elbow, courtesy of her body slamming to a wall after running around her new room yesterday. I wonder how my soulbound is doing... He had pinched his side that time.
His pinch hurt way more than slamming against a wall.

"After so many years, the Moth Miraculous has been awakened." Said the old man solemnly as he sat on his favorite seat opposite his successor. "Wayzz had sensed its aura—and I must tell you it's negative. I'm afraid it has fallen into the wrong hands."
