A couple of days later

"Wait, what?", Lily asked Zoey confused. "You said that Eddie came back after all these years?"

"Yeah, and the funny thing is...Alex hates him.", Zoey added as she gave out a dry laugh and hugged her pillow tightly over her chest and her cell phone between ear and shoulder.

"I can understand...but sweetheart, you've got to know... he had a choice to tell you before he left you, he chose not to. If I was you...I'd wait, I wouldn't trust him so easily. It all seems too good to be true, it's fishy.", Lily stated.

"It can't get any worse though, you know?", Zoey added

"You're a bit naive when it comes to love, but you have got to understand that you're not only living your life for yourself, you're living it with your fiance too, how do you think he would manage if he finds out that Mr. Jerk, Eddie, hurt you and abandoned you in the past?", Lily stated, which immediately made Zoey's head turn to face Alex who was fast asleep.

"From what I can tell...Alex really loves you.", Lily added warmly.

"I know... And I love him more than anything else in this world.", Zoey said as she brought her hand to Alex's face down to his jawline and caressed his face softly. "Alex means everything to me. I'm going to keep my distance away from Edward."

"Good girl!", Lily exclaimed on the other side of the cell phone and squealed.

"How about you? How are things going on for Dante and you after the meeting with the mother?", Zoey asked as she pulled her hand away from Alex's face and started to lay back in bed.

"It's going well, the news about us also died down quickly, which is kind of a good thing and a bad thing.", Lily added as she gave out a small snort.

"How so?", Zoey asked as her eyebrows, furrowed in confusion.

"Well...it's good because we're not constantly being followed everywhere we go...", Lily says before her voice trails off.

"But?", Zoey added.

"Girls keep surrounding him! I want every woman to know that he is mine and mine only!", Lily yelled over the phone, which made Zoey pull her cell phone slightly away from her ear, as she chuckled and imagined how Lily would pout right now on the other side.

Just then, Zoey got shocked as she could feel a strong and muscular arm pulling on her.

"Uhm...I've got to go....talk later?", Zoey asked frantically.

"Well, don't forget to say good morning to him!", Lily laughed before cutting the call.

"Morning beautiful.", Alex said as he kissed her eyelids and pulled Zoey close to him as gave her a warm smile.

"Good morning sleepyhead.", Zoey added as she chuckled before she could kiss him on his lips and hug him tight.

"You know...if you wanted to talk to someone about how much you love me, you could have told me head-on.", Alex stated as he winked at Zoey, leaving her shocked.

"You were awake the whole time?!", Zoey exclaimed in embarrassment before she could hide her face.

"Mhm."

"And that's all you could say for yourself after eavesdropping in our conversation?", she questioned him as she pouted and her cheeks went flushed.

"What else do you want me to say, sweetheart? You're in my house, in my room and you were talking right next to me.", Alex stated amusingly as he started to play with her hair with one hand and the other hand under her head.
