"Eddie?", she muttered under her breath softly.

The bell rang again as the next person entered the store, which made their heads turn.

"Hey Zoey, you left your cell phone in the car...", Alex's words trailed off as he saw Eddie and how close he now was standing next to Zoey.

(Oh no.), she thought to herself.

"H..hey....I thought you already drove off?", Zoey added in as she quickly rushed to Alex and kissed his cheek.

She placed her hand on his chest and just then the light reflected in and something shiny caught Eddie's attention.

"Oh?", Eddie muttered under his breath but loud enough to catch the couple's attention."Are you getting married to him?"

Before Zoey could answer, Alex wrapped his arm around her waist, leaving her shocked as he started to talk for her.

"Yes, and you are?", Alex questioned.

"Oh, he's the new replacement for Lily.", Zoey added frantically.

Alex kept quiet as he focused his eyes on hers. He could easily see the tiny sweat beads forming and her rapid breathing getting heavier every second.

(What are you hiding from me, Zoey?), he thought to himself.

"Well...I just wanted to give you this, I'll pick you up later tonight for dinner.", Alex stated as he kissed her forehead and caressed her locks and then untangled himself from her, giving her back her cell phone.

He left before she could respond to him, while left her confused because he was of many things, but ignoring her was not in his traits.

(What did I do...?), she thought to herself as she watched him mouthing the words, 'I love you', before driving away.

Zoey huffed out and then decided to focus her mind on work.

The day went on as usual, busy. Zoey did not even have time to confront Eddie, which made her a bit annoyed because she knew that she would have to talk to him after work and that she would have to take some time before she goes on her date.

The night was cold as she waited outside for Eddie to finish locking up.

"Hey Eddie, do you have some time to talk?", Zoey asked quietly, because she wasn't really sure whether it was really him or not.

"Don't worry Zoe-Zoe. It's really me.", he said as he threw a wink at her and gave her a warm smile.

"Oh my god!", she exclaimed in shock as she clasped her hands over her mouth before running towards him and throwing him a big hug. "I've missed you so much, you dummy!", she yelled at him.

Eddie chuckled as he ruffled her hair a little bit and hugged her back tightly, before pulling away from her and holding her arms. Just then, he noticed a black car pulling up, to his surprise he saw Alex getting out of the car with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. They made eye contact, which made Alex stop in his tracks as he watched Eddie take of his coat and wrapped it around Zoey.

Alex started to clench his fists tightly as he watched the scene, he noticed the way she was around him and how she smiled so beautifully around Eddie.

He stormed towards them, which made Eddie smile.

"Oh? Alex!", was all Zoey could say before she was pulled by Alex into his grasp. Alex stared at Eddie coldly, which made him amused. Alex pulled off his coat of Zoey and threw it on the ground causing her to be confused and shocked.

He held her hand tightly as he walked towards the car and not looking back. He pushed her into the back seat causing her to fall.

"Alex! What the hell!", she yelled at him before he could close the door and get into the driver's seat. "What has gotten into you?", she questioned him in anger.

Alex just threw the flowers in the passenger's seat and turned the ignition on as he drove off.

"Who is he, Zoey?", Alex questioned her in a cold tone.

"Eddie?", Zoey asked as she furrowed her eyebrows and crinkled her nose.

(Damn Zoey...you're cute...), Alex thought to himself even though he was angry enough to think of killing Eddie.

"Who else do you think we are talking about here, Zoey?", he added in a stern voice.

"He's just an old friend...", she muttered under her breath.

"An old friend you say? Seems like you two got really comfortable quickly, doesn't seem like old friends would get n that well.", he stated as he took a right on the road.

"Fine, we have a little bit of history.", Zoey shrugged it off as she started to get annoyed. "Why does it even matter?"

"It matters because I'm your damn fiance!", Alex yelled, lashing out at her and stopping the car immediately to the side of the road, to turn around and look at her.

Zoey bit her lower lip as she tried to hide her laugh which started to make her cheeks get flushed.

"What's so funny?", Alex asked in a husky voice, demanding answers from her.

"You're so jealous!", she exclaimed as she let out a loud laugh that filled the empty and void car, bringing joy into Alex's heart.

"Damn it....I love you, Zoey. Stop showing others the side you show me!", he demanded.

But she couldn't stop laughing at his silliness.

"Okay, okay.", she huffed out and tried to catch her breath. "We liked each other in the past, but he left without a single word...and three weeks later, I found out the reason why."

"What was wrong?", Alex asked in concern as he started to play with her hair.

"He got sick... And I thought I was never ever going to see him again.", she added.
