"sean, what is love?"
love comes in many forms.
it could be from family or from friends.
but there is one form that it comes in,
through someone called a soulmate,
who can be either platonic or a lover.
"love is kaycee." he replied.

♡♡♡

"You're my, my, my, myyyyy...lover." The recording echoed in the small room they were in, with hardly any furniture. Just a microphone and its stand, a guitar that he bought to try and learn but failed miserably and a canvas stand that he impulsively bought to try out painting but also didn't work out.

"This sounds amazing. Why didn't you release on YouTube?" Kaycee asked as she replayed the chorus again, immersing herself in his vocals.

"Last year, when I recorded this, I wasn't really intending to make it for upload. It was just a stress-reliever. Singing is also not my forte, as we know, and I have been focusing a lot more on dance by then so it would be odd to suddenly pursue music too." Sean replied, forcing a straight smile.

Kaycee was only partially listening to him as he said that, since she was already stuck in a loop of listening to his vocals over and over again. Somehow, it involuntarily caused his cheeks to burn hot, which he internally face palmed himself for and praying she wouldn't look at him until it went away.

"I demand this to be published, sir- Sean?" Kaycee tilted her head slightly less than 45 degrees to the left, looking curiously at the shades of red Sean suddenly put on his face.

"Awwww Sean. Why are you blushing? The vocals are perfect. Maybe even beyond perfect. Trust me, you're going to be the next Taylor Swift in no time with this." Kaycee stood up, the distance between us closing as she extended her knees.

"N-nothing. I think I'm just feeling really warm. The AC has been acting a little wonky for the past few weeks and I haven't gotten someone to check it out for me." Sean tried not to look her in the eyes and avoided all eye contact as much as possible. He was even surprised at himself that he pulled off that excuse without stumbling.

"Sean. It's not warm. But sure, whatever floats your boat." Kaycee smiled and wrapped one arm around him. She clicked play once more, this time with the duo swaying to the vocals together.

She was hooked.

"Do you know how to do music production?" Kaycee questioned.

"And who are you talking to again?" Sean joked.

"Oh yes. The most talented human being ever. Now senpai, show me your ways. Teach me the art of music production and sound mixing." Kaycee giggled as she bowed like how a training ninja would.

"First drill, audio file transferring. You should be good at this one, since you do it pretty often to make videos." Sean smiled as she clicked a load on the mouse and smashed the keyboard buttons to find each file.

"Next drill, adding beats and changing how the track sounds." Sean pointed on the monitor to guide Kaycee as she tried her best to learn someone so technical in 30 minutes.

And finally, after delaying another 30 minutes on top of that, they were done with the first draft. It wasn't perfect, it could be better, but it already sounded decent and professional.

"Holy smokes, the way the beats and your vocals complement super well, it's like made for each other." Kaycee gently nudged Sean at his shoulder and he does it back, but of course gently because he doesn't want someone flying off her chair.
