do you ever notice,
when you laugh,
your eyes crinkle,
your dimples show,
and everything fades away,
except for you?

Ba-dum, ba-dum, ba-dum.

Her heart kept racing and it eventually woke her up in the middle of the night. It had only been five minutes since he left that door and she was already craving for his presence.

Noticing she was still in her dress, she slowly stood up from her bed and headed to the shower. Sliding the handle of the tap slightly to the left, the water soon transitioned from cold to warm.

She took a good thirty minutes in there, as she played songs on her phone. Every single song that played were from her playlist she made once when she was thinking about Sean. Best Friend by Rex Orange County, If I Hadn't Met You by Chelsea Culter, Heaven is You by Joshua Bassett and many other songs.

Kaycee picked up her hairbrush from the counter as she sang along to Best Friend, singing it as loud as she can while trying not to disturb her parents next door.

"You're gonna wanna be my best friend baby, you're gonna wanna be my bestttt friendddddd." She sang along, but lipsynced the slightly higher notes because her throat would probably not want a round of damage after a long night.

She never felt so happy that she was actually dating her childhood best friend. She always thought it would be a bad idea to fall in love with your guy best friend, but life surprises you in many ways huh?

After enjoying the hot water for some time, she finally got herself out of the mini sauna and laid on bed, checking her text messages from Sean.

Sean:
hey i had loads of fun with you today. i hope it was the same for you as well. took me lots of effort to plan it, but i would do anything in the world, even if it means that i have to somehow take a flight to the moon in a rocket, i will do it for you. mark my words. i love you kayc, sweet dreams.

not to be corny/cheesy but, hope you dream about me ;)

Kaycee cringed at his bad flirting skills but she sort of liked it. He wasn't afraid to be himself around her, neither did she feel like she was constrained and had to keep stuff a secret around him. A best friend is a best friend for a reason.

Kaycee:
aww sean, of course i loved the whole surprise. but guess what, i love you more. we should hang out tomorrow if you're down. i would love to bring you to one of my all time favourite places. <3 sweet dreams and don't let the bedbugs bite.

Sean heard his phone vibrate on his nightstand. He knew it was mostly likely Kaycee, or at least he was 99% sure. That 1% goes to the uncertainty he has. He managed to stop himself from checking his phone to try and get some sleep, in case she wanted to hang out with him.

And there is no way she would want to go on a date with a human version of a panda, or a zombie. He wouldn't want those eye bags and dark eye circles to be hanging around.

He smiled one last time, before the tiredness finally kicked him for him and he soon fell into a deep slumber.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

Ugh. The sun beamed right into his eyes when he had realised that he didn't close the curtains. He winced in pain as his back and legs were completely sore from carrying Kaycee around, but he knew it was all worth it.

He smiled through the pain, taking it as though he was carrying her love with him. The pain was her love that she left on his muscles, so why would he want to get rid of that?

Sean barely managed to get up and walk to the bathroom without stumbling. He got himself ready by brushing his teeth, twice because he was worried his teeth would be yellow, and did his skin care routine after not touching it for the longest time.

When he reached for a shirt in his closet, he noticed one of the oversized shirts that he hardly wore nowadays. But the graphic printed on it was amazing looking and he started to wonder why he had passed up on it.

Until he realised something.

There was a little note, still attached and dangling on for dear life, like a love note of some sort.

Dear Shamu,
I saw you eyeing on this shirt for the longest time when we were shopping at American Eagle, so I decided to use my hard earned savings and buy it for you. You better wear it often!

Happy bornday my other half :)

Kaycee.

He giggled and placed the card somewhere safer than just laying carelessly in the drawer. Sean then swiftly puts on the shirt and admired how well it still fit on his figure after all these years in the mirror.

He then made sure his hair was not a complete mess by using his comb and a little bit of water to try and shape it out. He wanted his hair to be slightly fluffy but not too much until it would turn out to be a bush sitting on his head.

Sean noticed Kaycee's messages from last night when he woke up earlier, which he was then grateful for always keeping his alarm turned on every day so that he could read and get ready for it in time.

Grabbing his watch and sliding it onto his wrist, he took a pair of socks laying on the floor and rushed to the door. He slid everywhere with them after he placed them on and got his pair of Converse.

"9.28am. Crap. 2 more minutes till 9.30am." Sean murmured to himself as he panicked, trying to find where he had left his car keys last night, which ended up being stuck in the ignition still.

"Alright baby, let's drive." He tapped on the steering wheel as he started the car up, before reversing out of the garage and towards Kaycee's house.

Beep! Beep!

Kaycee sprinted out of the door as she noticed him driving out of his garage. She waved one last goodbye to her parents before hopping into his car, which they then quickly shared a kiss.

"Good morning Kayc." Sean smiled.

"Good morning Shamu." Kaycee giggled, before letting out a long yawn as she stretched her limbs out while sitting on the car seat.

"Where are we headed to today?" Sean asked as he passed his phone over to Kaycee. She only took a quick look at his phone and his phone instantly unlocked itself, revealing his very much grand and unorganised home screen.

She was confused, wondering what the hell just happened. That was until she noticed Sean beaming like a sunshine at her, which then made her realised what had happened.

"Did you add my Face ID on your phone?" Kaycee asked, which in reply, Sean nodded.

"Honestly I'm pretty surprised that you could unlock it because I made it scan your face when you were sleeping." Sean chuckled and Kaycee hit him on his arm playfully, sighing at his antics.

"Oh Sean."
