City Of Clace Chapter 21

Today was a school day. Monday. Ugh. Clary hated school. The only friends she had there were Izzy, Simon, Alec, and Jace and she saw them everyday so it wasn't like she missed them on the weekends. She never really got made fun of at school and nobody had ever told her they hated her or been mean to her except maybe Lauren. The thing that really made school unbearable for Clary was the anxiety of it. She had an anxiety disorder and every little thing they did at school made her nervous and she felt like throwing up and she wound just get so scared she didn't think about anything else and she hated it, but there wasn't anything else she could do about it. It was just so she was. Lots of times she would try to just not think about it, but then when it was time to do that certain activity she would get even worse. Nobody knew she had a disorder. They knew she got anxious easily, though.

Clary got out of bed silently so she didn't wake Jace. She quickly showered and blow dried her hair. Now she had to decide what to wear, the hard part. She finally decided on a cute v-neck shirt with a funky design on it and a plain white skirt with floral vans. A perfect outfit. Izzy would be proud.

"Are you almost done in there? "Jace called through the bathroom door.

"Ya. "Clary called back as she opened the door. Jace looked from her eyes down to her shoes and back up to her eyes.

"Woa."

"What? Is it that bad? Should i change? "Clary asked, worried. She thought it looked good. Maybe not.

"No, no! It looks amazing! But you know what would look even better on you? "

"What? "

"If you took off that skirt and shirt and didn't put anything else on. . . "

"Jace! "Clary shrieked while laughing. She grabbed a pillow off the bed and threw it at his face. She missed by a long shot. Jace just kept on laughing even harder now. Clary stormed out of the room and into the kitchen. She quickly ate her breakfast, a banana, and waited for Jace to finish getting ready and come downstairs.

"Alright, let's go! "Jace was running down the stairs. He was wearing a pair of basketball shoes and jeans with a loose t shirt that still showed his muscles and his signature leather jacket. Clary swung her backpack over her shoulder and opened the door. It was the perfect temperature outside today.

"Isn't it beatiful out? "Clary wondered out loud.

"I bet you could draw it beatufuly."Jace said. He grabbed Clary's hand and intertwined their fingers. It only lasted for a few seconds because Jace had to use both hands to drive them to school. Usually took the bus with Alec and Izzy to school but Jace and Clary were leaving early so they could help tutor some of the, let's just say, less smart students.

After a 15 minute drive they arrived at school. Jace pulled into the student parking lot and put the car into park.

"We're early. "Clary stated.

"I know. I meant to be. So we could do this." Jace leaned over the center console between the two seats and brought his lips to meet Clary's.

"Wait, why didn't we just do this back at the Institute and leave on time? " Clary asked.

"So we wouldn't get interrupted. "Jace and Clary went back to kissing. Someone pulled into the parking spot next to them.

"Crap. "Jace muttered. "They can see us. We have to wait until they leave."

So they sat in the car and started talking while they waited for the person next to them to get out of his car so they could continue kissing in peace. But the time he got put of his car it was time for them to go into the building. As they were walking in Clary saw the boy who pulled up next to them in the parking lot open the main office doors and walk in.

"Did you just see that kid? I dont recognize him. I think he's new here. " Clary said. She pointed to the doors where he had been just moments before.

"Wasn't he the one who parked next to us? "

"Ya. "

"I think he's new here. Only a new kid would interrupt me when I'm in the middle of kissing you. Everyone knows not to mess with me when I'm kissing you. "

Clary laughed. Jace was always so protective and caring, in his own way.

"I have to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back. "Jace said. He dashed of to the nearest bathroom. Clary saw the same kid as before sitting on the bottom of the stairs. She decided to go over and talk to him.

"Hey, "she said, "are you new here? "

"Ya. I'm Percy. "The boy responded. He had black hair that stopped just before his eyes and sea green eyes. He was cute.

"Hi. I'm Clarissa. Clary for short. Do you need any help finding your way around school? "

"No thanks. I got it. "

"What's your schedule? "

"Um, advisory, art, math, lunch, core, English, gym, science, then social studies. "

"We have the same schedule! "

"Sweet! I'll actually have a friend in the same class as me. "

Just as Clary was about to say something back, Jace walked up from behind her and picked her up bridal style. She screamed and giggled once she realized who it was. Clary wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. She hadn't planned on doing that but she couldn't control herself around Jace.

"Sorry, I'll just go now. "Percy said awkwardly.

"Oh no, sorry. You don't have to leave." Clary said, quickly detaching herself from Jace.

"I'm Jace. "Jace said.

"Percy. "

"Well, we'd better get going. "Jace replied. He didn't seem to like Percy much.

"Bye. See you in advisory, Clary! "He called out.

And with that they left Percy to himself, wandering around the school.
