After school Clary took her time at her locker. By the time she got out of the building, everyone was gone. She walked over to the bike rack and unlocked her bike. Usually Jace would drive her home but he had made the football team and today was the first practice.

"Hey Clary. Where's Jace? "Will asked, walking up to her. He seemingly appeared out of the shadows. One second he was nowhere to be seen, the next he was right in front of her.

"Football practice. "She replied coldly. She just didn't feel like talking to him. Something felt off.

"I can walk you home of you want. "The way Will said that scared Clary. She didn't know why. It was like he was commanding Clary to let him walk her home.

"No thanks. "She answered, wheeling her bike away. He ran after her and grabbed her wrist painfully, his nails digging into her skin. And that's when she saw it. His eyes. They had turned completely black, like a demon's, like Sebastion's. Will was part demon. Quickly Clary grabbed a Seraph blade and slice his head off. That was the end of Will, but Clary knew there would be more. Sebastion was on the move and his target? Clary.

When Jace arrived back at the Institute he was drenched in sweat and didn't smell too good, either. He walked into his room and showered. When he emerged from the bathroom, Clary was sitting on his bed, her lugs tucked up blocking her chest and her arms wrapped around her knees. Instantly he knew something was wrong.

"What's wrong? "Jace cried.

"It's....it's Sebastion. He's back. Today at school Will came up to me. He was part demon, just like Sebastion. He made more Jace. He made more. "

Jace was stunned. He couldn't talk.

"Are....are you sure? "

"Yes, Jace. Sebastion has created another race of shadowhunters. Part demon. And they're all out to get me. To get us. "

Jace walked over to Clary and wrapped his arms around her. A single tear rolled down her face. He had never seen her cry before. This was something serious.

"Did he hurt you at all? "Jace asked, pulling back to inspect her arms and face for bruises or scratches.

"No. I killed him when he wasn't looking. It was just too easy, though. You know what i mean? It was as if Sebastion just wanted to scare me, earn me, but not kill me. Not yet anyways. "

Jace looked deep into Clary's eyes and said, "it'll be okay. The only way anyone will ever hurt you is if im dead, and even then I'll put a hell of a fight up. "

"Don't say that Jace. Don't tell like you know you're going to die before me, protecting me. "Clary whispered.

"I'd never leave you. Not in a million years, not in a month. Never. "

Somehow those words made Clary feel better. She finally drifted off into sleep. She could feel Jace's arms around her, forever protecting her, and just for a moment she almost forgot about everything and just enjoyed the moment. Almost.
