City Of Clace Chapter 24

After what felt like forever, school was over. Jace had already gone to his locker and gotten his backpack so he was standing next to Clary at her locker.

"You excited for tonight? "Jace asked, reminding her that he had something special planned for her.

"I would be even more excited if you told me what we're doing. " Jace hadn't told her what they were doing. He claimed it was a surprise. He was about to answer when Percy came.

"Oh, hey Percy. "Clary said, waving. Jace groaned and rolled his eyes.

"Hey Clary, Jace. "Percy nodded his head in Jace's direction as a greeting. Jace quickly closed Clary's locker when she was done and grabbed her elbow and dragged her out to the parking lot.

"Well somebody's excited. "Clary joked, elbowing Jace in the side.

"Watch it, I'm your ride. I could leave you here with Percy. "Jace warned.

"That wouldn't be all that bad. "

Jace made a gagging sound with his throat and unlocked the car. Clary opened the door and hurriedly got in before he could leave without her. When Jace got in, she reached over and grabbed his hand to make him feel better.

"I cant wait for tonight. "Clary said. Jace started rubbing circles on her hand with his thumb. While they waited at the stop light down the road Clary turned the radio on. Her favorite song, Shut Up And Dance, was playing. She began to sing along in a majorly out of tune voice.

"Oh don't you dare look back just keep your eyes on me i said your holding back she said shut up and dance with me this woman is my destiny she said ooohhh shut up and dance with me! "

Jace chucked and pressed on the gas. By the time the song finished they were at the Institute.

"Come on! Follow me, it's all ready. "Jace said as he held the door open for her like a true gentleman. Clary had a hunch they were going to the observatory. It was where they had shared their first kiss and where Clary first realized she was in love with Jace.

"I love you, Jace, and i always will, even if i die, I'm never stop loving you."Clary whispered.

"I love you even more, Clary. And we haven't even gotten to the romantic part. "Jace answered. They reached a staircase and Clary began climbing. They were definatley going to the observatory now. When she reached the top step and opened the door she gasped. That hadn't been what she was expecting.
