Kaneki's POV
I forgot what it feels to be around someone I cared so much about.
It feels like I'm finally complete.
"Are you sure it's ok that I come in." I asked hesitantly. "I finally found my brother and he wants to leave how ironic." Oh crap was I being too rude? Did I sound rude? I feel like I made things awkward.
"Ah...no it's not that!" I shouted with nerves. Oh geez, how do I do this sibling thing again. I feel like it's easier when we were kids. "I'm sorry it's just that I still can't believe you're here...and alive." A few tears dropped as I looked down in disappointment. I just feel like a failure to her, nothing can't compare to all the harm and loneliness that I've caused.
"Kaneki, what matters the most is that we're a family again." Kenya spoke in a cheerful tone.
As we stood there in silence the door opened and a very similar voice became all too clear. "Kenya I got some blankets for your-" We both looked the man standing there in shock and confusion.
Hide.
Wait....
Just wait.....
Kenya looked backed at me in nervousness and then back at Hide who was also looking as if he saw a ghost.
"Why is Hide in your home?" I was a more shocked and in a bit of anger hinted in my voice.
Kenya quickly shoved me in her small home and closed the door faster than I my ghoul senses can look. "Ummm it's nothing really he's just staying here until the dorms are repaired." She gave me a small smile and looked at Hide for some help.
"Sh-She's telling the truth! I swear! My dorms are being temporarily closed I just needed a place to sleep and shower."
I'm not sure how to be feel about this...
At one point I would feel happy and relieved that my closest people who I consider family are here together and safe without having to worry about my dangerous thoughts of them not being here with me......
But on the other hand a guy and a girl living together..... while the guy is HALF NAKED IN MY BABY SISTER'S HOUSE-
"I'M GONNA KILL YOU HIDE!"
"Kaneki!"
"K-k-Kaneki.....I'm s-sorry." Kenya pulled me away from Hide as I tried to end his whole existence.
How dare he do this to Kenya. She's an innocent soul who would never hurt a fly.
"Kaneki it's ok! He hasn't done anything to me. I allowed him to live here like I told you earlier!" My sister screamed in annoyance. "But you blanked out and attacked Hide! You leave him alone!"
Oh god.
When a girl defends a boy does that mean she likes him?!
"Kenya don't tell me you've fallen for this player!" I shook my sister as she started to get dizzy. "Yeah tell him Kenya! Wait! Who are you calling a player?! You bookworm jerk!" Hide and I began to argue nonsense of who was more of a jerk.
I felt a sharp slap on the back of my head as I almost passed out.
"You both listen well! This is my house, my rules, now shut up and hug it out cause we all know how you both missed each other you fools!" Kenya started to choke both of us and threw us in her room.
We both stayed quiet as we looked away from each other.
I knew he'd do this.
"Do you still like coffee?" Hide asked bluntly.
