Kaneki's POV
Yomo what is going on?
Meet me at the park now. Don't ask me any questions.
The sun had set and the moon rose.
My feet swiftly moved from one step to another. I had no time to stop, I didn't even had time to think about my coffee.
People started to exit from stores, karaoke places, and their houses. I can't be seen or else I'll be reported and the CCG will never give up to capture me.
I decide to jump through the trees as I approached the park. This way I will be hidden and if people question the noise they'll assume it's an animal.
As I pass the city lights and car noises, I could see that I was reaching our 'meet up' place. I hope no one got injured or ill.
Once I reached my destination, I waited for Yomo to arrive. Where I was sitting I was able to get a view of the park.
The leaves slowly swayed as the small breeze passed though them. The water was flowing from fountain and it made me calm and set a peaceful mood. A gust of wind suddenly past where I was waiting. I closed my eyes and let the wind flow through my hair, very peaceful.
"I promise."
Kenya went missing for several years.
My parents died too soon.
And I was left alone.
Separated from my sister, my only loving relative.
Days before Kenya missing I had promised her that we'd always be together. That we'd help each other out, listen to our problems, and that we'd make each other happy just like when we were kids.
I broke her promise.
I broke the promise too soon.
My breath starts to quicken as I remember about my past. The deaths of my parents, the loneliness, the depression. My goals in life, my determination to succeed in school, my belief that my sister is alive, and reading had helped me get through these problems.
The new people that I met through this journey have also helped be.
Anteiku.
School.
Hide. Especially Hide, he's the one that helped me the most. Hide was the person that made me smile through the pain, offered me a place to stay, and was there for me throughout my life.
I never wish to tell Hide about me and who I became. I wonder what's he doing right now? Probably riding his bike through the city. He's always full of life.
I miss Hide.
"Kaneki."
Yomo's voice broke my sorrowful thoughts.
There was a long silence before Yomo spoke again. "Someone that is dear to you is in the hospital." I stayed silent for a while and then I started to process Yomo's words.
Hospital.
Just by hearing that word made me have different scenarios and questions of what could've happened to the people that I know.
Was this an attack from Agori Tree? They must've attacked people from Anteiku when they were outside. This must've happened when someone from Anteiku was doing errands at night and that's when Agori attacked.
Don't tell me it was Hide?!
NO!
Not Hide!!!
