Kaneki's POV

I steadied my breath as the footsteps got closer. They echoed the entire building as I remained stuck in the same position. They're flashlights were an inch of way of shining on me.

Welp this is where it ends.

"The car is leaving let's go, forget the documents they aren't important as you think." I let out a small breath as the footsteps became distant and a car screech was heard.

There aren't other presences nearby I'll leave now.

I dropped to the ground and quickly jumped back to the darkest area of the building. Just in case there a surprise attack or someone else hiding. I snuck through the broken windows of the lab and ran up a building.

Good every document is here maybe I'll give it to Mr. Yoshimura instead this might be helpful to him then any news source. Knowing the news and the CCG they'll make it into a story of horror or fear and not focus on the tragedy of these individuals.

I still couldn't find anything related to my sister, but I won't give up.

I jumped on the roof of the building and began to run to safety, the park should be fine. As I ran I saw several people enjoying their night, talking, and laughing. I remember when Hide and I would enter book stores and then go to resturaunts where we'd tell jokes and order so much food that we'd both be broke.

A small stop to Hide's dorm wouldn't hurt, I just don't want to be followed. I make a sharp right turn and jumped over the buildings. The street lights started to dim as I was reaching closer to Hide's place. Darkness took over the sky and all the light were from the dorms.

I jump on the roof of the building and look through his window. No one is in here, weird. His backpack and other school utilities were still here. It was hard to see anything due to the darkness and most of the dorm was covered with large plastic bags and I sensed no one. Maybe he went out, I'll come next time.

Someone's here, but who. A dark intense feeling came over my body as I jumped away from the roof and landed on another building.

"Where are headed to Kaneki?"

"It's just you, Naki. You should be careful if you"re seen. You are a wanted ghoul and a prisoner as well it would be a real shame if you were to get caught." I could feel his itense glare stare directly at me as I had a strong threatening aurua.

"Whatever. What are you even doing here? You're also a criminal if someone sees you-"

"I don't need to respond any questions to you, now-" I swiftly use my kagune and left it directly pointing to Naki's throat while the other one was aiming for the stomach. "-why were you following me?" My galre never left his eyes, I'm ready to attack if nesscesary.

"Eto was being a pain the ass asking where you went. She made me follow you to see where. you went since Ayato isn't here to babysit you." That damn Eto, I can't get some time for myself not even when I go on missions or tasks.

I just want to see my friends.

"I'll go back in a while." I jumped away from him and began to take my leave. "She said to head back soon, or else we'll both end up dead." I heard his steps fade away while I stood staring back at Hide's dorm room. I just wanted to visit my best friend.

I have to drop these papers before I leave.

I hope everyone is ok, soon we'll be reunited.

Kenya's POV

Achoo!

I think someone was talkign about me, I wonder who.

"And this is the last of the things I'll need, thanks again."

"You're welcome Hide, sorry if the apartment is too small for you." I passed him a cup of coffee. "Don't worry it's a good apartment and there's enough space here." Hide sipped his sweet coffee, while I drank my plain balck coffee. "I don't understand how you like coffee like that, I like my coffee sweet." I laughed a little as Hide kept telling me to add sugar or some kind of flavor.

"It doesn't matter, coffee is still delicious wether you add something or don't. I just like coffee like that." I smiled as Hide still suggested a creamer. Well black plain coffee doesn't make me throw up and it's delicous, also cause I'm a ghoul but we won't tell Hide that.

"I might get random visitors I'm sorry if they come in out of random." I remembered Uta and Nishiki barging in my home for the last weeks. Uuuughhh I already know how they're going to react when they see Hide.

I can literally see it happening.

"Is this your boyfriend? Huuuuuuuuuuuh Kenya hehehe."

"You never told us you had a boyfriend."

"Are you two gonna get married? Babies?"

"She's annoying and rude just warning you, like she kicks us out of HER home like share the damn place!"

"You're in love huh Kenya?!"

I DON'T want that happening, but I know it will ugh.

"I'll cook some dinner you can rest since you're still in recovery." Shit I can't eat any food or I'll throw it up. "It's ok, I'll cook and you finish resting." Hide rushed in the kitchen and began cuting vegtables and meat. The food smelled delicious, it smelled like a soup or broth of some kind yet I won't be able to enjoy it.

After 30 minutes of waiting Hide made a ramen bowl of prok with cabagge, carrots, and other vegtables. "Dig in!" Hide said a small prayer and ate like a wild animal. I said my thanks and took a sip of the broth, the taste made me gag a bit I swallowed the broth. The faster I eat this, the faster I can deal with the sickeness.

We both talked about school and how were doing in each class. Hide explained to me that Kamii University can get extremely difficult and hard lectures, but that with studying and proper teachings I can succeed. We talked about our hobbies, dreams, and other goals we had. We told each other jokes and took silly pictures.

"You know me and Kaneki would go to resturaunts and have conversations like these. We'd have the best times at dinner. Someone took this picture of us while I was trying to convice Kaneki to hit on a girl he saw."

Wow my brother is really handosme and so cute. He looks really shy and look his blushing, my big brother is so adorbale. "Aww you two are so cute. I wish I was there." Hide blushed a little as he put his phone away. "I know Kankei will come back to find us. The good in him is still there." That's what Touka may not feel, but I agree with Hide.

"I think the same too, he'll find us and I'm sure this is all a misunderstanding from the media." I know my brother isn't a criminal or hasn't comitted crimes, he seems too kind to do any of those things. "Thanks for the food, I'll clean up." I felt extremely naseous and had a strong urge to throw up. "You rest I'll clean the tables and wash the dishes." Hide quickly picked up the trash and took it to the dumpster outside. I ran into the bathroom and threw up all the food. More blood came out and I felt extreme pain in my stomach.

There was blood all over the toilet. I grabbed napkins and cleaned before Hide came and noticed. I washed my hands and and disinffected the sink, all clean and tidy. I sat on my couch just in time for Hide to come inside. "I forgot to tell you I may not be here all the time, I have a part time job so the food I made you was a special dinner." Hide laughed and finsihed sweeping and wash the dishes.

I feel so weak and dehydrated, a sudden tiredness overcame me and before I knew it I had fallen asleep on my couch.
