"Sorry. I didn't mean to tell him. It sort of came out."
"So Kat, what did you and Harry do in the storage room?" Lily was raising her eyebrows.
"Oh stop it you perv. We didn't do anything but talk."
"Really, he didn't try to kiss you or anything?"
"I think he was going to, but I ran off when the bell rang." Then the door opened and in walked a young girl crying.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll leave," she said.
"No, you don't have to leave," I told the girl.
"What's the matter?" Lily asked.
"It's nothing to worry about," the girl cried. I walked up to her and put my arm around her.
"What's the matter, hun?" I asked.
"It's just this guy I like. He's being a big jerk," she said.
"What did he do?" Lily asked.
"He called me ugly and fat in front if his friends." Lily and I gasped.
"Sweetie, you are not ugly and you are definitely not fat," I said trying to comfort her.
"Really? You two really think that?" She wiped her tears of her face.
"Of course we do. Every girl is beautiful," Lily said.
"Hey, do you want to get back at him?" I asked. She nodded her head.
"Kat, what are you doing?" Lily asked.
"Have you heard of the band One Direction?" I asked the girl.
"Of course I have. I love them," she said.
"Well, how would you like to sing 'Taken' with my friend Lily and I at the talent show?"
"Kat, I thought we were singing 'More Than This' not 'Taken'," Lily said.
"There's been a change of plans Lil. So what do you say?" I looked at the girl and she nodded her head.
"I'm Teri-Ann by the way, but you can call me Joee."
"Well it's nice to meet you, Joee. I'm Katie and that over there is my friend Lily." Lily waved to Joee.
"So let's practice 'Taken' since we go on in a few minutes." We practiced singing the song and then it was our turn to go up.
"Next we have Katie Daniels singing--" I ran onto the stage and took the microphone from the principal.
"And my friends Lily and Joee are singing 'Taken' by One Direction." Everyone began to clap as Joee and Lily got on stage with me. I could see the boys sitting in the front row. Oh how I hoped I wouldn't mess up their song.
"Now that you can't have me,
You suddenly want me," Joee began.
Boy did she have a great voice.
