12. BACK TO REALITY [2], REMEMBRANCE VESSELS

It was blank before she realized she was back in the colored reality again.

Mei: 'That was a bit challenging... I could've lost if I'm not prepared enough...'

Mei deeply sighs before taking sight of Miss Pink.
She thought she would be there.

Mei: "Elysia?"

She looked at the place she would usually be in, she was not there.

Mei: 'She's not here? That's strange.'
Mei: 'Let's look around.'

Mei looked from the War Room, the Battleground, to the... Lounge?
It wasn't available before...
Mei: "This room used to be locked before."

She immediately goes into the Lounge, finding Elysia comfortably sitting on a booth.

Mei: "So there you are."

Elysia: "Hello, welcome back." Elysia waves her hand from the sofa but showed no intention of getting up.
Elysia: "How did it go?"

Mei: "And I thought you were supposed to be monitoring."

Elysia: "I was, for a while."

Mei: "..."

Elysia:  "Wanna sit for a while? Eden's sofa is so comfy that I can never get up."

Mei:  "It's fine, I prefer standing."

Elysia:  "Come on, don't be such a stranger, Mei. You're now the master of the Elysian Realm now, and everything is here for you."

Mei:  "..."
Mei:  "You did say it was your convention hall, but I feel it also served other purposes as well."
Mei:  "After all, for a meeting place, there's a lot of room for relaxation."

Elysia:  "Oh, that was my idea. A little bit of renovation to bring the team members closer together."

Elysia:  "As I said, Elysian Realm was constructed with memories, but some memories were sealed within our individual spaces."
Elysia:  "Might be a secret, a story that requires background information to understand, or just a message for the successors."

Elysia looks to the corner.
Mei following her gaze, she saw a row of delicate, empty, oval-shaped vessels.
Many a time, so much time has passed, yet not a single mark was left behind them.
The surface patterns seemed to represent the souls held within.

Elysia:  "Put the kindling you've gathered in the vessels and you'll understand right away."

Mei:  "I... see."

Elysia:  "Uh-huh."
Elysia:  "Oh, remember to put the first gift into the second bottle from the left, the most beautiful one."

Mei comes up to the vessels and prepared what she was told.
Mei:  'This must be the vessels Elysia mentioned. Some slots are vacant, and the second one from the left is...'

Mei looks at the second vessel to the left.
She had a feeling that it was no coincidence.
It was a bottle that represent 'her' too well.
'She' was the one to tell Mei to put those kindlings in that second bottle.
It wasn't coincidence, it was intentional.

Mei:  "..."
Mei:  '...I knew it.'

Mei gazes to the vessels once more.
There are fourteen slots, yet some were vacant.
The vessels that were there, they were all labeled.
Hero's Memory.
Pristine Memory.
Singer's Memory.
Mad King's Memory.
Buddha's Memory.
Sakura's Memory.
Serpent Master's Memory.
Soldier's Memory.

The six remaining vessels that were not there, they weren't labeled.
Regardless, it made it easier for Mei to know each title goes to exactly.
But the surprising part for her was...

Mei:  'Wait... Fourteen?"

Yes, instead of thirteen slots, there was an extra one, counting fourteen.
Was it just an extra one?
Or was there another Flame-Chaser Mei has yet to know and see?

Mei:  I thought there were thirteen...'
Mei:  "Perhaps its an extra slot...'
Mei:  'I'll ask Elysia later on.'

Mei: "So these are the sealed memories of the Flame-Chasers?"

Elysia: "Yeah, they've been dormant for too long and require a certain catalyst to be awakened..."
Elysia: "Which is the kindling I just told you. Pick a vessel and infuse it with the kindling."

Mei: "What's the reasoning of doing this?"

Elysia: "When you awaken sealed data, you're trying to touch the Flame-Chaser's souls, and that... makes contact easier."
