23. ELYSIAN REALM: THE SIXTH TRIAL

This was the sixth trial she was currently in.
Mei zoomed through the first half of the trial that she didn't notice that she's halfway there already.

Mei: "Hm, seems these enemies are getting easier every time."
Mei: 'But what Elysia just said...'

[BEFORE THE TRIAL STARTED...]
Elysia: "The person you'll be meeting next is the one who controls things on a spiritual level."

Mei: "On a spiritual level?"

Elysia: "This is Su, you'll be meeting him next."

Mei: 'Oh, the one who fell in a coma along with Y/n for a good while...'

Elysia: "The way he words and forms sentences are beyond our meaning."
Elysia: "It's complex, yet a beautiful way to sound what he means."
Elysia: "Although I just wonder how..."

Mei: "?"

Elysia: "No, you'll see him when you get there."
Elysia: "No point in spoiling milk now."

Mei: 'And here I am now...'

This was the sixth space.
She just finished defeating enemies along the way and collected her signet from Eden for the second time.
Now, she was on to the Signet of Deliverance for the second tine as well.
It was just here and there.
It zoomed by so fast that she was already on her second wave.

Mei: 'It's so weird that I'm moving this trial more faster than it used to.'
Mei: 'Perhaps the choices of signets I'm picking up are helping through easily this time?'

While she was in the middle of processing her thoughts...

SLASH!

The last honkai monster let out a death roar before disappearing to honkai square bits.
Before she knew it, she finished the enemies around, resulting in Kevin's appearance.
He looked like he had something to say, yet he stayed silent.

Mei: "You look like you want to tell me something, Kevin."
Mei:  "What is it?"

Kevin: "..."
Kevin: "Herrscher, Deliverance is never easy."
Kevin: "Sometimes we can't even save one life, but it's not the excuse for giving up."

Mei: "That's why we have to do what we can do."
Mei: "Otherwise, how are we supposed to save others?"
She silently picked up his signet and moved along in her trial.

[TIMESKIP: ON THE TENTH FLOOR]

SLAM!

The thunders roared and the lightnings flashed.
From her slamming her psychic sword, her enemies immediately befell before her.

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!

Mei turns to the maroon haired Flame-Chaser, the person responsibly held for the Signet of Gold.

Eden:  "Great work, Miss Raiden."

Mei:  "Hello, Miss Eden."
Mei:  "Thank you."

Eden:  "You're welcome."
Eden:  "You made a spectacular performance, I just wanted to compliment you."

Mei:  "Oh no no, there's no need to..."

Eden:  "I insist, Miss Raiden."
Eden:  "Oh, I want to tell you something as well."
Eden:  "You've been through Phyllis's shop a couple of times, right?"

Mei:  "Once, if I remember correctly."

Eden:  "If you're planning on going to Phyllis's Shop, you can bring her some shiny stuff."
Eden:  "She might give you a discount."
Eden:  "Also, it's a good spot to take breaks every now and then."

Mei:  "Oh, that's good to know."
Mei:  "Perhaps I should take a visit."

Eden:  "You've been going through this trial nonstop, please do take a break."
Eden:  "I believe you'll be meeting the next person right after."

Mei:  "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind."

Eden pulls her signets in front of her as Mei chose a signet from her for the third time.

Eden:  "Oh? You collected three from me, here's the special signet."

Mei:  "Thank you."
Mei takes Eden's only one special signet before moving on.

The three portals open to reveal...
Setsuna...
Phyllis's Shop.
Decimation.

Mei did need a break before moving along.
She did move nonstop and hasn't taken a break since then.

Mei:  'I need to break this habit soon...'
While saying that in her thoughts, she immediately went through Phyllis's Shop.

...

Moments after, she landed herself in a land of quiet.
From a few feet, there it was.
The Phyllis Shop.
It was Mei's chance to see what it had in store.

Just a bunch of gems, stones, jewelry...
The same old when she first discovered this place.
None of it seemed her interest.
Before leaving though...

Mei:  "Hm?"

There was a jar that was covered on top.
On the middle, there was a tag labeled:
"Free Cookies! But you can only take one!"

The first time Mei was here, it wasn't there before.
Was it added just recently?

Mei:  "Free cookies?"
Mei:  "..."
Mei:  "I doesn't hurt to try since I'm here."
Mei:  "I am on break."
Mei says, proceeding to take a cookie from its jar.

She proceeds to bring the cookie close to her mouth and immediately take a bite.
After a few seconds of chewing and swallowing, she came with her final verdict.

Mei:  "Hm, not bad. Not what I expected, but it's good nonetheless."
After some time nibbling on her cookie, it was time to meet the next Flame-Chaser.
The one unopened portal that waited for her arrival, soon within its radius, it gladly unlocked itself for its visitor.

This portal had a leaf shaped signet.
Meaning this was a new signet she just discovered and that she was about to meet the man named Su, who is responsible of it.

Without no hesitation, Mei immediately went through.
Soon, her time to meet Su was finally here.
