27. KEVIN AND Y/N: MEMORIES OF THE PAST [1]

He reminds himself of a memory.
A memory when him and Y/n talked before.

It was a memory that wasn't called relevant, rather called...

A long term lingering thought?

It was something he kept thinking about.
To which is strange to him.
Normally he wouldn't think of such trivial things.
Since that talk with "Raiden Mei", to which he calls her, it just so happened this specific memory came back to him right after they were done talking.

It was... one of his memories of Y/n.
One that he keeps within his brain, especially with everything she said to him.
It made him think deeply yet short lived of it.
Even when he had a short answer for it, it still stayed with him.

It was before he captured the Judgement of Shamash.
The two have just finished a mission three weeks ago and haven't seen each other since.
Y/n was just a helper to him, a great one alongside Elysia and Su.

She stood by his room door, waiting for him.
She was told by Su he was deeply reflecting at the moment.

KNOCK, KNOCK!
She knocks on his door and waits for a response.

Y/n:  'Did he leave to his next mission already?'

Soon, she could hear his door crack open, revealing the person she wanted to talk to after some deep thoughts.
She hadn't talked to him for a while due to him having a bunch of honkai invasions, issues with the MOTHs, tons of missions, and other personal issues happening all at once, causing a huge distance between the two.

Kevin:  "Y/n."

Y/n:  "Kevin."
Y/n:  "You finally came over here, long time no see."

Kevin:  "Normally you wouldn't call on me."

Y/n:  "Before I used to, now rarely."

Kevin:  "..."
Kevin:  "Like the old times."

Y/n:  "Mm..."
Y/n:  "Just like the old times."

Kevin:  "..."
Kevin:  "I'm sorry for not talking to you for so long."

Y/n:  "You had your reasons, more enough reasons why anyone should leave you alone."
Y/n:  "It's not my place to shape you how my image of you should be."
Y/n:  "Even though I wanted to talk to you or help, you never sought my help."
Y/n:  "So I can't get complacent with the things I want to do for someone I care for."
Y/n:  "There are times us friends need to keep our distance, even if we share the same burden."
Y/n:  "Not only that, you've been very busy lately."
Y/n: "Perhaps you need someone other than a therapist to talk to."

Kevin:  "..."
Kevin:  "Thank you, Y/n."
Kevin:  "You're here to ask me something, aren't you?"

Y/n:  "As always, you know your friends too well."
Y/n:  "I know you will answer my questions immediately and correctly, in general and in your own terms depending on how its asked."
Y/n:  "And I know you like to state facts truthfully and clearly, that's why I like asking questions to you."
Y/n:  "You, Dr. MEI, nor Su don't beat around the bush, and that's how I like getting my answers."
Y/n:  "Just simple and clean, sometimes no need for an explanation."
