After returning back to reality, Mei sees Klein in the battleground area and immediately questions her.

Mei:  "Klein, that was..."

Klein:  "Apparently, the realm is not functioning properly."
Klein:  "It's reconstructing the characters and object in your memory incorrectly."

Mei:  "What caused this?"

Klein:  "Not clear right now."
Klein:  "I'm still analyzing the data you collected."
Klein:  "But in a nutshell, there are two possibilities."
Klein:  "One, something went wrong with your mind and it mistook the Honkai Beasts for your partners."

Mei:  'So that's why they didn't seem interested in me.'
Mei:  'They only acknowledged me as an ally of sorts, attacking other threats that were considered as their allies.'
Mei:  'One issue, my conscious and mind was perfectly fine within the simulation, so what's going on?'
Mei:  'There's still something wrong about this.'
Mei:  "...You can rule that out now."

Klein:  "But..."
Klein:  "The other possibility has been ruled out too."
Klein:  "If your mind is functioning properly, then it must be that someone has tampered with the memory simulation algorithm."
Klein:  "But you're the only successor in the realm now."

Mei:  "..."
Mei stays silent, thinking about other possibilities of why this is happening.
Although the way she's staring at Klein made it look like she is the main suspect to all this.

Klein:  "..."
Klein:  "Uh..."
Klein:  "Sounds like I'm the prime suspect now."
Klein:  "Don't... don't look at me like that..."
Klein:  "I'm innocent..."
Klein:  "Though there's no evidence to prove it yet..."

Mei:  "Is it possible..."
Mei:  "That something within the realm is trying to meddle with my mind?"
Mei questions Klein.

Klein:  "It only takes very basic knowledge of neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, and a bit of social psychology to know..."
Klein:  "..."
Klein:  "Uh..."
Klein:  "Alright, I guess you're not familiar with any of those."
Klein:  "Ah, it's indeed a different era now."

Mei:  "...I don't think this has anything to do with what era it is now."

Klein:  "Anyway, what I'm trying to tell you is that the probability of this scenario is close to zero."
Klein:  "As for the exact result..."
Klein:  "I'll let you know after the data is thoroughly analyzed."
