Mei:  "Hello, Y/n."

Y/n:  "Hi, Mei."

Mei: "May I ask you this question?"

Y/n:  "Go for it."
Y/n: "I'm all ears."

Mei: "I will apologize if this sounds rude."
Mei:  "But have you ever considered being an official member of the Flame-Chasers?"

Y/n:  "Hm, good question."
Y/n: "To be honest, during my time of living, even as a SIM of Y/n, I thought of it for while."
Y/n: "And I can say it's more like the opposite."
Y/n:  "I've never really considered myself as the 14th member of the organization."

Mei: "Hm?"
Mei:  "Why so?"

Y/n: "In my opinion, to put it bluntly, I was like a fly on a wall."
Y/n: "Myself back then really didn't make much of a difference for the Flame-Chasers."
Y/n: "It was only a flash when I first started..."
Y/n: "...And ended."
Y/n: "Since 13 was already established, the 14th, I..."
Y/n: "Was no more of a backstage character for them."

Mei:  "But I did hear lots of things from others, especially from Sakura, Elysia, and Eden, that you were well-liked amongst the others."
Mei:  "It's not like you were completely shunned within the organization."

Y/n:  "Although this is true."
Y/n: "They did like me as the calm, mature 15 year old child I was before."
Y/n: "But liked me more when my surgery came into play."
Y/n: "Ever since I grew a maturing adult body, it caused a huge ruckus from the members of the organization."
Y/n: "Especially Elysia who was too happy of my succession, while with Mobius who wanted to make me quote of quote, 'her lab rat'."

Mei:  'Sounds like Elysia alright...'
Mei: 'But Mobius is another problem at hand.'
Mei:  "Y/n, if you don't mind, may I ask you a couple more questions?"

Y/n:  "Go ahead."

Mei:  "One, how did you die exactly?"
Mei: "Two, what was your mission?"
Mei: "And three, what honkai were you fused with?"

Y/n:  "Eager, aren't you?"
Y/n: "Let's start with number one, how did I die exactly."
Y/n: "I can say I did die, others say I didn't exactly die..."

Mei: "What do you mean?"

Y/n: "Some said I disappeared from the real world and was transported into another world, others were told I died due to absorbing too much honkai energy for my body that was used to make my body stronger."

Mei:  "?"
Mei: 'What does that even mean?'

Y/n: "You look confused, I can tell by your expression."
Y/n:  "No worries, I'll tell you what Honkai I was fused with as I explain what my mission was."
Y/n: "As for your questions number two and three..."
Y/n:  "As I said to you before, it was a rare creature that I was given because I was very well compatible with it."
Y/n: "Because it was rare, Doctor MEI had given me a choice to use this power for a continuous mission that still moves on till this new age in history."
Y/n: "It also gave me these ears and a maturing grown up body within a week of my surgery. I was 15 at the time, but I grew and matured very quickly due to that."
Y/n: "My mission was to help Doctor MEI and Mobius solve this one thing they have been worried about..."

Mei:  "And what was it, if I may ask?"

Y/n:  "Before I tell you..."
Y/n: "Mei, what pops up in your mind when I say this word, "Void"?"

Mei:  "A Herrscher capable of controlling the void."

Y/n:  "I see, then let me change the word."
Y/n: "What comes in your mind when I say, 'Quantum'?"

Mei:  "Quantum monsters."
Mei: "Void honkai."
Mei: "But what is this all of a sudden—"
Mei stops abruptly.
Mei:  'Wait...'

Mei looks at her ears...
A glittery purple.
Her fingers...
A light purple.
One of her eyes...
Dark purple.
They're the same color as those monsters Mei fought in Nagazora before and after becoming a herrscher.

Mei:  "Don't tell me..."

Y/n: "Yes, as you can guess, I was fused with a quantum Honkai."
Y/n: "It's name was..."
Y/n: "Void Hellion."
Y/n: "And that is your answer for number three."

Mei: "Void Hellion..."
Mei: "Such a rare creature to be fused with."
Mei: "Out of all the others, I believe yours is one of the special ones."

Y/n: "You think so?"
Y/n: "Well, it's something I'm not proud about, nor dissatisfied either."
Y/n: "Let's just say, I have an equal amount of liking and disliking towards this."
Y/n: "Even so, I will admit that my powers has helped Dr. MEI, many other Flame-Chasers, and researchers along the way."
Y/n's voice shifts to a soft whisper...
Y/n: "It's just..."

Y/n pauses for a moment as she slightly looks down from Mei's gaze with a soft yet blank expression.
As her internal thoughts intrude, she starts to look back to her tragic memories of her past experiences.

The balance between her likes and dislikes of her powers has always been an internal conflict for her, reminding Y/n of whether she should have stayed being human versus being a MANTIS.
And it always worries her, constantly.

Mei: "?"
Mei: "You stopped talking for a moment..."
Mei: "Are you alright?"

Y/n: "Ah, yes."
Y/n: "I'm fine, just thinking about something."
Y/n: "But it is nothing to worry about, I assure you."

Mei: "..."
Mei simply nods her head subtly before leaving the Voider alone in the lounge to let her think of her thoughts.
Mei: 'It's as if she regrets becoming a MANTIS, but at the same time...'
Mei: '...'
Mei: 'I am curious about one thing, even if she did become a MANTIS because Elysia saved her...'
