18 - Cave

"Everyone listen up!" Wen Chao yelled over the crowd of imprisoned disciples forced to be at the indoctrination, "we are going on a little trip. Do not do anything stupid."

I could only roll my eyes as we were escorted out of Qishan and out into some sort of woods. Wei Ying offered to carry me a few times because of my leg, but I told him no. He still continued to walk beside me and offer a shoulder to keep balance. That was enough for me.

Following Wen Chao and his man, me and the other cultivators enter into a cave that Wei Ying had found using a location talisman. A cave was what Wen Chao was looking for, so Wei Ying just had to think of a cave and the talisman searched the area for any hidden caves.

Inside we walked along a steep edge where one could easily fall from if you took a wrong step. As we all walked through the cave, a female Jin clan disciple or servant, Mian Mian, slipped and almost fell from the edge of the walkway. With a quick reaction Jin Zixuan grabbed Mian Mian just in time before she fell from the edge.

"Are you alright?" He asked and Mian Mian nodded her head in return Wen Chao went toward Mian Mian with an angry expression on his face, he took out his whip, just as he was about to hit Mian Mian, Jin Zixuan blocked Wen Chao's Whip with his arm, "Wen Chao, what do you think you are doing?!" Jin Zixuan shouted in anger.

"What did I just do? What did I just do? Why in the world did you have to yell like that? If that monster heard us, this will be your fault!" Wen Chao scolded.

I glared toward Wen Chao, getting annoyed by his constant barking, but I kept moving forward alongside Wei Ying.

Jin Zixuan stood in front of Mian Mian to protect her, "You bring us here, without our weapons. You call this a night hunt? Then tell me, what in the world is this monster like? Tell us something before we leave for a night hunt?"

"Why in the world should I inform you? Let me tell you all this, everyone in here, you all are just ants beneath the Qishan Wen clan's feet. Then one in command is me, not you. Don't tell me what to do? You got that!" Wen Chao seethed.

Wei Ying looked at me and rolled his eyes in annoyance. He stood beside me looking down at the dark bottomless depths below us. Jiang Wanyin stood on the other side of Wei Ying. Before he took a misstep, Jiang Wanyin and I grabbed his arms to keep him from falling.

"Yes, this it is, it's down there!" Wen Chao said boisterously.

"It looks bottomless. We don't even know what this monster looks like. You didn't even tell us clearly about it. How in the world do we get down there?!"

Wei Ying and I looked down at the dark abyss. Wen Chao pushed Jiang Cheng aside, he got near Wei Ying, that was when he pushed Wei Ying over the edge.

"Argh!" Wei Ying screamed.

"Wei Ying!" I yelled and gave Wen Chao the most death defying glare I could ever give, 'if something bad happens to him, you will not live to see tomorrow,' I thought. I was the first one to make it down to Wei Ying. He looked a bit in pain as he held onto his stomach while I helped him stand, "Wei Ying, are you alright?" I asked

"I'm fine, Lan Zhan. Just a little bruised up," he said, but I couldn't help but be concerned.

"Let me check it later," I told him as he smiled back at me.

"Okay," he said as the two of them turn to look at the other.

"You all thought that I got eaten by that monster," Wei Ying pointed out.

"We all come down here to fight that monster, it is better than staying up there hearing those two insulting us," Jin Zixuan stated.

"I think your right," Wei Ying said
in response. Wen Chao kept nagging for us to respond back to him for any news, but we all either ignored him or didn't reply.
