"Why don't we go talk in a more private setting?" Jiang Fengmian suggested. We agreed and followed him to a private room, it was a smaller meeting room, and he placed a privacy barrier over the room, "remember, I was to share this with A'Ying when I felt he was ready but I think with this war, he might be our key...but it can also cause a huge problem within the sects."
"Uncle Jiang?" Wei Ying asked.
"There was a secret that only Cangse, his mother, and I knew about Wei Changze. He was in a long line of people who cultivated differently. Because of that, the Wei Family used to have a small clan of their own in Yiling. Until one day, someone had felt their methods were barbaric and unorthodox, and caused the little clan to disappear, only leaving a Wei Changze left. The last of his bloodline. His family could cultivate resentment and it was very peaceful back then. Resentment was never how it is today. The Wei Family were the only people who were able to handle it.
They trained more strictly and meticulously because of how out of control it can become. Though, no matter what, they never harmed anyone. When Xue Chonghai came along, he was the reason for resentful energy to become basically a forbidden cultivation method. Wei Changze was like a brother to me so I had him move into Lotus Pier, allowed him to be my subordinate and head disciple. For people to say he was a servant, is just down right disrespectful to him.
As for Cangse, she was a rogue cultivator. No one had ever seen anyone like her. She was very playful and free spirited. How my wife had come to hate us is beyond me, because they used to be best friends when they first met. She started spending time with my wife as well as Madam Lan, or Wangji and Xichen's mother.
Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren married in secret but Cangse wasn't someone who liked to conform to rules. I told Wei Changze that if he wanted to travel with her, he had my blessing to do so. So they went on their way.
Later when I learned more of Changze and Cangse, Wei Changze, since he cultivated resentment, he had a black core. Cangse, however was completely opposite. She cultivated with a pure white core, which meant she had all Yang Energy. After having Wei Ying, they knew right away, he was different. They immediately went to Baoshan Sanren, even though it is said that disciples do not go back or are not allowed, but it was important that they went back to her.
Baoshan found out that Wei Ying had an enlarged dantian, and had a dual spiritual vein. One to cultivate Yang energy and the other, to cultivate Yin energy. Baoshan had said when Wei Ying was old enough, he would have to return to train properly. It is very, very rare but Wei Ying was named the next Yin Yang master after Lan An. It's interesting because the Lan Bloodline never ran through either side of Wei Ying's parents.
Since Wei Ying's parents passed away, I had to find ways to help him until I knew how to find Baoshan. Baoshan had placed a protection charm on him to help keep the resentful energy docile. If it was not sealed, he would be struggling a lot more than you could ever imagine."
We listened attentively to what Jiang Fengmian had to say. It was a lot to take in but it did make some sense.
"Have you found leads into where Baoshan would be?" Brother asked.
"I have some ideas, and as I researched, I found that most of what I found was linked to Yiling. I just never had the chance to look more into it. Wei Ying is at the age where he should try to find her and get a grasp on this energy, but I cannot make decisions for him, and I have not had a chance to tell him until now," Jiang Fengmian explained.
"I want to find her," Wei Ying said.
"I can help," I said, "as your soulmate, I am not letting you go alone."
"Well, since we are letting things out, you should know that even though they have not had a ceremony, Wangji and A'Xian made a blood oath," Brother said, "Wangji has to help him, be with him, or it will be difficult and dangerous for both of them."
"Why am I only now knowing this?" Jiang Fengmian asked.
"Uncle Jiang, I am sorry, but we just didn't know what to say. If anyone knew, it could cause us to be in trouble. Our lives would be at risk," Wei Ying said.
Jiang Fengmian sighed, "I suppose I cannot be mad...it's like your Shijie always says, you make it impossible to be upset at."
Wei Ying giggled, "you do not stick to the motto to well then, attempt the impossible," he said.
"Hey," Jiang Fengmian said.
Wei Ying moved behind me, "you have to go through him first."
I looked at Jiang Fengmian, and he just had a smile on his face, "I would never."
"So the only lead you have is Yiling?" Wei Ying asked.
"Well, that and the burial mounds...I don't know if it is true, but there is a place near there that has a portal to her place," Jiang Fengmian told him.
"Well, we will go in a couple days. We need to figure out what to do about weapons," Wei Ying said.
"We have a group of soldiers going to the location of the indoctrination and try to get a hold there. We might be able to get them back in a day or two," Jiang Fengmian said.
"Okay," Wei Ying said, "um, I think I have been out for too long today. My back is starting to hurt a little."
"Come, I will help you," I said.
Brother stayed with Sect Leader Jiang for a while to talk about the next couple moves they had planned. I helped Wei Ying back to our room and had him lay on his stomach so I can tend to his back.
