We were all standing in the middle of Nightless City, right in front of the Scorching Sun Palace. Wen Sect soldiers came out from the palace while an army of puppets came from the gate entrance. We were surrounded. After the Wen soldiers were killed, they came back as puppets. Our numbers were going down and there was still a long fight to go.
The Wen soldiers were dead but more corpses were entering the area. Wei Ying looked at me, "I will protect you, Love. Do what you need to do," I told him.
He kissed me quickly before hopping onto the pillar close by. I kept up with keeping the puppets away from him. I took out my Guqin and with a powerful thrum, chord assassination knocked half the corpses away. Brother looked at me and nodded as it was a way of telling me that I was doing a good job and thinking quick.
I checked on Wei Ying and with him using Chenqing, he was summoning large amounts of resentful energy and sent it out towards the puppets, quickly taking control of them and having them fight with each other. It was a good idea and a good enough of a distraction for my brother and Chifeng Zun to head up the stairs to the palace.
Wen Ruohan soon appeared in front of them and looked towards Wei Ying, "You! How are you doing this? How did you destroy the Yin Iron and take away my control?"
"I do not need to answer to you," Wei Ying told him, "but happy to see you finally join the party out here."
As Wei Ying distracted Wen Ruohan, I saw Baxia pierce through Wen Ruohan's chest. I smiled and then turned back to Wei Ying. He raised his flute and caused the the puppets to drop removing the resentment from them and played Rest for them. When he played Rest I joined in, as it was to help send the dead souls to peace.
Wei Ying came down and stood beside me, "I'm exhausted," he said.
"You deserve a well deserved rest," I told him, "want me to carry you back to camp?"
He nodded. He then climbed onto my back before I flew off to the camp. When we reached our tent, I placed a privacy barrier and a talisman to keep the tent door closed so others will not come in. We then went through our routine, we ate, I prepared a hot bath and helped massage Wei Ying. After the bath, I would continue to give him a massage as he started to relax more. He was soon asleep.
As I was laying down beside him, I could hear people outside our tent talking. They were saying that with me and Wei Ying as immortals, it would be unfair for the Lan Sect to hold so much power. I no longer wore my Lan Sect attire and I am surprised no one noticed that. I did not have a ribbon or my robes anymore.
I was in personalized robes that suited me and even Wei Ying had his robes tailored to match mine. We decided to go with black and white robes as it was what his mother used to wear and what Baoshan wore. Wei Ying and I are only here for a few more days to attend the banquet to celebrate our successful win on the campaign.
After the banquet, Wei Ying and I decided we would go spend time with Baoshan. When she helped trained us, we became her new disciples. She doesn't usually allow her disciples to return if they leave her mountain, but she made an exception for Wei Ying and me.
I was a bit annoyed that people were talking such nonsense. Since Wei Ying and I are immortal and we have honored titles, we deserve respect. I sighed and decided to run it by my brother in the morning. I was just so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open anymore. I pulled Wei Ying close to me and fell asleep.
When morning came around, Wei Ying and I dressed and went to go talk with my brother. I told Wei Ying about what I heard last night and he too, thought it was absurd. As neither of us are affiliated with the sects anymore, it should not affect others. When brother heard us out, he brought it up with Chifeng Zun and said he would bring it up at the banquet this evening.
