Chapter Song - Love Is Strange by Mickey & Sylvia
Soft warm light says 'good morning' as it creeps through the slivers of the floor to ceiling drapes. I squint my eyes as the light stings and turn over under the covers, away from the large windows, Danny's warm body comforting me.
I snuggle into his naked chest, one arm circled like an anaconda around my waist, his arm pulling me closer unconsciously.
I relax into the pillow, not ready to get up yet and wanting to stay in this moment forever.
That is short lived when I hear murmured voices echo from downstairs - voices that don't just belong to Hallie and Bridie. I sit up straight in bed, Danny groaning at my sudden movement.
"Back to sleep," He mumbles.
I turn, looking down at his sleepy state. Dark hair is tousled and messy as some lays across his forehead. I brush it back and run a finger across his face and he lets out a sigh of content from the delicate action.
I hear more chatter and face back to the door, frowning as I'm confused at who could be here this early in the morning.
"Did you have people coming over today?" I ask Danny and he mumbles a gruff 'no', turning into the pillow and trying to pull me back down.
He succeeds and I fall right onto his chest. "Danny," I laugh.
"What?" he smiles teasingly, one of his hands running down my back and squeezing my ass.
"Stop!" I gasp, squirming in his hold. He pulls me into a kiss and my squirming stops as I melt into the kiss, his lips warm as they softly brush against mine.
The chatter is a little louder and I hear the front door close shut, which takes Danny's attention away.
"See, there is noise," I say, sitting up right in bed.
Danny sits up next to me. "I don't know who would be here," he says.
We share a look and both get up, though in no rush, we start to get dressed again. Although I'm a little worried as to who is downstairs, chatting with the girls. They know not to open the door to strangers, so it has to be someone they know or have met before.
Unless Bridie just started aimlessly chatting and did let in a random stranger. I wouldn't put it past her.
After slipping on my underwear that was hanging from the edge of Danny's dresser, than my shorts and long sleeve top that were strung around the floor, we walk out and downstairs to where the chatting remains in the front room.
Two little pairs of hands wrap around my legs and I lift up Bridie per her request, while pressing a soft good morning kiss on Hallie's head.
"Dan! Finally, honestly took you long enough," a woman with short grey hair, dressed in a perfectly tailored black business suit, with a matching leather hand bag strung on her arm, greets Danny.
