"What is there to get?" he asked her watching her down her drink.

"That there isn't a you and me until there's a you and me." she told him. "I know it doesn't make sense but it doesn't happen this easy. Look...." she reached out her hand to touch his. "You just got out of a what? Three year relationship? You need to get out and see the world....and everything it has to offer....and like I'm just one of those girls that you'll see for a while and then move on to the next one. And to be super honest..."

"Please do." he said digging his eyes into her trying to figure her out.

"I'm too old for that shit." she smiled trying not to laugh.

"Wait...I thought you were being sincere and honest about all this?" he asked her.

"I am." she told him. "I do all this crap in hopes that maybe one of the guys that I meet at a concert, press event, fashion show, on a story, on tinder, on hinge, or whatever...in hopes that he's the one. It's not like that episode of Friends where Joey asks the girl out and they go to her apartment and he swears he slept with her but finds out it was her roommate...and I'm not a sex crazed Samantha either. Like this all has a purpose. I want to be happy and in a relationship." she said honestly. "And you're cute. And famous and it would look cute for us to be together like 'Blogger extraordinaire and pop idol start dating.' It would be all over page 6. But it won't work, Bruno. It just won't."

"When I said we should get married yesterday I was kidding, Lola." he smirked. "I get where you're coming from. But, maybe you give me the chance by going out with me once?" She sighed sipping her drink again. "And maybe with no alcohol."

"Said the guy who sang Moonshine?" she asked.

"It has its time and place." he said to her.

"Hmm. Okay." she nodded her head. "What do you propose?" she asked.

"Just give me a few hours." he winked at her knowing exactly what he was going to propose but not letting her know. "Just be dressed and ready to go at like 7:30...." he said to her.

"But whatever will I wear?" she asked in a silly voice.

"Whatever you want, baby." he smiled.

"That's no help." she responded.

"Something like what you have on would be perfect." he responded.

"You're going to make my day hell because I won't know what to expect!" she said in a sad tone.

"I'm pretty good at keeping secrets." he winked at her.

"Oh?" she asked.

"Yeah." he said playfully. '

"How about you tell me one while you walk me home?" she leaned in whispering to him.

"How about you tell me one of yours before we leave?" he asked her pulling her closer to him. He felt her body turn away from him pushing the drinks toward the bartender.

"Let me tell Mady that we're leaving." she said standing up avoiding him as she continued to get redder by the second. Get it together loser. She told herself. "Madelyn...we're leaving..."

"Are you gonna get some?" Madelyn asked.

"God when did you become a 16 year old boy?" Lola asked.

"When you started talking to Bruno Mars. I cannot even wait for your stories about him." she gushed.

"Ugh. Whatever." Lola rolled her eyes. "I'll talk to you tomorrow. Oh and we're going on a date tomorrow. It's a surprisseeee." she said with a smile.
