Chapter 7.

I wiped my tears, sitting up, I'm a mess.. I heard loud noises and banging, the sound of howling and growling. My eyes widen no.. Don't let this start again, I got up, out of bed and shifted, bashing the door open and racing out the pack door. Rogues... How many of these guys are there?! I frantically looked around, the first thing that popped in my head, was Adam and my brother, I sniffed the air, I couldn't smell their scent, what's going on where are they..? I finally get them.

I howled racing and following their scent, I get to a river this is weird, I swear they are here, I can smell them everywhere, I'm confused, I should see them by now, I heard a low growl, I turned around and saw a rogue actually heaps of them. Shit... I have to fight.. I growled, digging my claws in the ground and pointing my ears up, snarling at them, one of them jumps, I looked up, but as I brought my head back, one of them bites down on my leg. I whimpered falling down, I growled to my myself getting up, I have to be strong! I want to be like my brother and everyone else! I need to be strong! I pinned the rogue down, snapping at him, I shut my eyes and bit down on his neck ripping it apart.

I got off him, I was scared.. I can't believe I did this.. I backed away from the rogue laying on the floor and looked around me, I saw the rest of them surrounding me, snaring at me and growling, clearly pissed off. I howled, where is Adam and Connor! I just wanted to find them! And now I have to fight a bunch of rogues and everything, this is great! I need to plan something and quick. I growled, backing up and then running up to them, I bent my knees and lifting myself up in the air, I went over the rogues and landed on my feet, I looked at them and raced off, I could hear them howl and racing after me, I need to mind link my brother.

*idiot where are you?!* I growled, I'm frustrated, where is he I'm worried as hell!

*I'm at the camp fighting off rogues where are you!* He growls back

*I was at the camp but you weren't there! I'm coming now and I have a bunch of them hot on my tail* I howled again and ran faster.

I get to the camp within 2 minutes, it was a mess, the camp was on fire, blood everywhere, houses torn up and screaming. I saw two rogues surrounding two little girls, who are little baby pups, they whimpered, cuddling each other, I have to do something, I can't let them die, even if it cost my life! I'll protect my new family. I growled racing over to them, I ran into the rogues making them fly into a wall, I growled stepping in front of the little pups as the rogues stood, growling at me and snarling.

I snarled back at them, I dug my claws in the ground, one of them claws my face, the force of it causing me to fall to the ground right in front of the pups, I whimpered. I looked at the little girls eyes, their so scared and frighten, their trembling bodies and tears running down their cheeks, I couldn't let them go not yet. I slowly got back up, a little wobble on my legs, the rogue bites my neck and throws me, I hit a wall, I hear a slight crack, I gasped. I fell to the floor, I saw the rogues go to the pups.. No! I growled getting up and racing hitting the rogue straight in the shoulder, I kicked the other in the mouth, his jaw cracking.

Even though I was in pain and I could hardly breath, I still had to protect these guys even if it cost my life, I looked back at the pups, giving them a weak smile. I was about to take a step but someone stops me, I looked up and saw Connor, blocking the rogues from me and the pups, he turns his head to me and nuzzles me.

"Please go and take the pups somewhere safe, I'll be fine" He gives me a weak smile, the tears running down my cheeks.

I wanted to help but he shakes his head and nudges me, I whimpered, turning around and put the pups on my back.

"Hold onto me tight girls" I gave them a weak smile, they nodded, holding me tight.

I glanced at my brother once more and raced off, I ran out of the camp, leaving again, this time without my brother, I whimpered, the thought of losing him. I can't lose him, no I can't.. I felt a sharp pain struck my heart and an empty feeling in my stomach, I howled painfully, the pups did the same. I need to concentrate on getting these pups somewhere safe, I stopped looking around, I started running again, turning corners and avoiding branches, jumping over other animals and crossing rivers.

I saw someone familiar to me, just a few steps away as I got closer, I saw Adam's face, he was in a cave, it looks safe there, I stopped.. Walking slowly to him, he looks at me and smiles racing over to me and nuzzling me. I laid down, letting the pups crawl off my back, they whimpered, crawling to me and snuggling to my wolfs chest, in between my front paws, I smiled nuzzling the pups with my snout. I think we are safe here.. I hope, Adam walks to me, smiling he lays beside me and nuzzles the pups, it was like we had our own family with kids, but they weren't our kids, they belonged to someone else but I protected them like my own.

"Where's your family sweeties?" Adam leans his head to them, they both looked at each other, tears running down their cheeks.

"T-they d-died because t-they were p-protecting us" They whimpered, crawling closer to me, I narrowed my eyes and laid my head beside them.

"It's ok sweethearts you can stay with us we will protect you, you're safe with us" I smiled, looking at them, they both gave me a small smile, snuggling into me.

"Now get some sleep little ones" Adam smiles, nuzzling them and standing up, I looked at him.

"Where are you going? Adam we can't let them sleep until we know it's safe" I frowned at him, he turns around and smiles.

"Baby we are safe and you'll be fine, I'm going out to save your brother and my family, please stay here, I'll be back soon" I whimpered, he can't leave me! I wanted to come with him but he looks serious.

I stayed with the pups and watched as Adam left the cave and raced, until I could no longer see him, I whimpered, laying my head down beside the pups, my tears running down my cheeks. I hope he is ok.. I dozed off to sleep, I snapped my eyes open and looked around, I saw I was still in the cave, I looked down I sighed, the pups are still with me but where's Adam and the others.

I looked at the cave entrance, without disturbing the pups, I got up and walked to the entrance of the cave, I howled.. I waited a few moments before hearing another howl back to me, it was Adam, I smiled and raced to him, I jumped on him, nuzzling him, he smiles as I got off him, I saw the rest of the family and my brother, he was safe, I sighed of relief and raced to my brother, snuggling into him, thank god he was safe. I ran back to the pups and just in time they woke up, I smiled, they smiled so brightly it lit up my world, they raced over to me and hugged my legs.

I smiled, nuzzling them, they lost their parents and I know I would never replace them but I'll look after them and teach them to be strong so they can grow up and protect families of their own with the one they love. I'm still recovering with everything that's happened but I will get better and I know, I'll become stronger if I have Adam, speaking of the devil. I turned to Adam and smiled, he walks over to us and lays next to the pups and lets them bite his ears and play around on him, he chuckles and playfully tackles them. I giggled and went over to them, I playfully grabbed one of them and tickled her, she laughs rolling around, she kicks her little legs and the tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Ah! Stop it" She laughs again, I giggled and stopped tickling her.

She gets up and tackles down her sister playfully, they both laughed, play fighting each other, I sat down watching them, they were so adorable. Adam sits beside me, I leaned my head on his shoulder, I love Adam so much, it's funny how I've only met him for a month and I love him this much, he's become my world, I snuggled into him.
