Chapter 25.

Alice P.O.V

I woke up and stretched, I looked over Adams side and smiled to Adam, I kissed his cheek and got up. I took a quick shower and got dressed, I saw Adam sitting up in bed, he looked a bit stressed, I sat next to him.

"Babe..? Is everything okay? You look a bit stressed" I looked at him with concern, he shakes his head and smiles.

"It's nothing, I'm gonna go for a walk" He gets up and walks away, I sighed and walked into the kitchen.

"Connor, it's been a while since I saw you, where did you go?" He smiles and hugs me, I hugged him back.

"Sorry sis, I went to the doctors to check something and then I wanted to spend sometime with my beautiful mate, sorry I worried you" He frowns, I giggled and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"Eww" He playfully says and wipes his cheek, I just shook my head and walked away.

"OI, where you going?" He grabs my wrist, I turned around and smiled.

"I'm going to visit River, I'll be back soon" I tried a smile and turned back around to walk out the door.

"Mind if I join you?" Connor asks, I could hear the sadness he tried to hide come out of his voice.

I nodded my head and grabbed his hand, we walked to the meadow and sat down near River. Connor cleared his throat and started to talk to River, I smiled and watched him.

"Hey buddy, I know I haven't known you for long but.. It seems like forever since I did" He tries a smile, I faked a smile to him and kept my tears back.

"You are a great friend, I'm thankful to you for looking after my sister when she was alone, I know you never met your mate, because you said she died somehow, was it because she was attacked.. I'm still mad at you for the things you did with my sister" He tries to joke, we both did a little fake laugh and he continued on.

"But... Uh... Apart from that, I liked how you protected my sister, I couldn't be anymore grateful, I just wish I had got here in time, maybe I could have saved you both, you were always there for us and I'm happy my sister met a really great guy like you. Rest In Peace buddy" Connor gets up, I looked up at him, he smiles and sits next to me, giving me a big hug.

"Hey there River, it's me Alice. I miss you, hah... A lot... But like Connor said, yes I am very grateful for the things you did, but I just wish you were still here, because I could use a good friend to be with me right now, but I should be fine, I have Adam and Connor my brother, well I know this was a short visit but I should head home, bye River I'll see you soon" I got up and put some flowers down next to him and walked away slowly.

Connor put his arm over my shoulders and walks next to me, I could see he was hurting, he's just trying to be strong and because he thinks he's a man, thinking he shouldn't cry. We got home and sat on the couch, Connor turns the T.V on and watches, I don't know, music videos and stuff.

"I'm going to get a drink, want one Alice?" He gets up and looks down at me, I smiled and nodded my head.

"Yes, that would be great" He smiles and walks into the kitchen.

"Here" Connor hands me an ice cold lemonade, I grabbed it gently from him.

"Thanks" I took a sip, Connor sits back down and gulps down his beer.

After a while Adam came home, I jumped out my seat and looked straight at him.

"Adam, where were you? I was so worried about you" I narrowed my eyes, I hear him sigh loudly and roll his eyes.
