Chapter 8.

I've forgot about my fears, I didn't feel scared around him, I was starting to feel safe, I've started to trust him again. I mean I haven't completely forgotten everything but it's a start, my scars will heal over time, like Adam said, he will support me and that's all I need, if he's by my side, nothing can hurt me I hope. We decided to come back home, the little pups are tired from playing around, I smiled, I laid down and they crawled on me holding tight, I got up slowly.

We walked out the cave, Adam was beside me as we reached the camp, we saw everything was destroyed.. Well mostly everything. Everyone gasped, I was the first one to walk on the camp grounds, I curiously looked around, my head went from one side to the other, I was keeping alert, I turned my head back to Adam, his eyes glued to me, watching my every move. I moved forward, the pack behind me what is it..? Follow the leader, geez guys.. your stronger than me, you should be the ones looking around for any danger signs not me.

Ah! Screw it, I went to the pack house, Adam stands in front of me, very protective like, he pushes the door open with his paw and pokes his head in looking in every corner. I was behind him as we walked to every room, making sure everything was safe, he sighs, signing everything was safe, after checking every house and area. everyone breaths out and walked to their houses acting like nothing happened.. Uh.. What? I shook it off, I walked over to Adam and nuzzled him.

He smiles, standing up with pride, watching his pack as they cleaned up, the little kids playing around, I smiled, I went over to the kids. They all raced to me and played around me, I giggled and laid down, they all jumped on me and bit my ears, pulling playfully at them. The two girls that were on my back get off and go to look at me, they smiled.

"What's your names sweeties?" I looked at them, I didn't get the chance to know their names.

"I'm Taylor and my sister is Katie" I smiled and got up.

"Such beautiful names for beautiful girls now go play with the others I'll get you later ok?" They both shyly look away and smile.

"Ok I'll see you later" They both giggled and raced off to the other kids.

I turned back around and walked to Adam, I sat next to him, his eyes locked onto the people, he was on alert, not taking his eyes away once. I sighed, getting up and standing in front of him, blocking his view, his eyes race up my face to my eyes, I smiled and snuggled to him.

"Adam.. I want you to know that I love you.. And I feel safe around you I trust you" I looked up and he smiles proudly, he was happy, I could see it.

"That's great to hear, you don't know how long I've waited for you to tell me this" He nuzzles me, his eyes sparkle with happiness.

I should go shift and get dressed, I didn't want to let go of Adam, he's so warm and comfy.

"I'll be back soon" I looked up at him and walked into the house, I walked to my bedroom.

I shifted and put on my shorts and black tank top, I brushed my messy hair and brushed my teeth, I put on my flip flops. I walked out my room and saw Adam, he was shirtless, making me blush, I turned around feeling embarrassed, when I turned my head, he was smirking. He walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist, I turned around, looking at him, he smiles and kisses my forehead. He lets me go and grabs my hand, we walk out the house, everyone looks at us, making me feel nervous, they seemed happy, I smiled, when I saw the little girls running to us.

I kneeled down and opened my arms, they raced in my arms, hugging me tight, I smiled hugging them, I giggled and stood up, one of them puts her arms up, she wanted me to pick her up. I smiled and picked her up, putting her on my hip, Adam goes to the other girl doing the same, we both looked at each other.

"Alice I have organized for these girls to go to parents who have had children of their own to look after them, they can see us every now and then" I nodded my head, it's better for them to go to parents with experience but at least we can see them, me and Adam put the girls down.

"Alice come and play with us!" They both grab my arms and drag me to the big grass area, just a few feet away from the pack house.

I sat down on the grass and looked at them, I clapped my hands and smiled.

"What you girls wanna do?" They both smile and sit beside me.

"I wanna play chasey" Taylor smiles and grabs my arm.

"I wanna dance!" Katie grabs my other arm, I giggled.

"How about we do both" They both smiled and nodded getting up, I got up.

The little girls shifted into their little cute pups, I smiled and shifted, I nudged Katie.

"Ha! you're it Katie" I laughed and jogged away, purposely being slow.

She catches up to me and jumps on my back and giggles, I laughed.

"You're it Alice!" She giggles, jumping off me and racing to her sister.

"I'm gonna get you" I turned around and walked to them, they both scream and laughed running away.

I looked at Adam as I ran after the girls, he was watching me, his eyes following my every move. I smirked and ran to Adam, I purposely nudged him with my head, making him stumble a little.

"You're it big boy" I giggled and raced away with the girls, I grabbed them and put them on my back.

"Lets go big bad wolf is after us!" I giggled and raced with them on my back, they both screamed and laughed, holding onto me tight.

We all looked back and saw Adam behind us, the girls poked their tongues out at him, he smiles and picks up the pace. I giggled and turned my head back, racing away like lighting, we get to the meadow, I smiled, sniffing the wonderful smells of nature, oh how I missed it. I laid down and the girls got off me, I rolled on the grass, I loved the feeling of the soft warm grass on my back, I jumped up and Adam comes out of nowhere and nudges one of the girls. We played chase for a while, before we all laid down together and laughed, Adam puts his paw around me and nuzzles me, I smiled, we decided to go back home. I put the girls on my back, they were tired, walking beside Adam, we had a great time.

"Well.. Isn't this a sight aye boys" We both looked behind us and saw them rogues again.

Damn.. When are they gonna go away and leave..? Seriously getting annoying.

"Alright what are you doing here now" Adam growls, clearly annoyed their here, he snarls, digging his claws in the ground.

The girls whimpered, they were scared as hell, I turned around and looked at them, nuzzling them.

"It's ok sweeties, we won't let them hurt you" I smiled and looked back at the rogues, Why are they always here.

I growled, digging my claws in the ground, they snarl, but don't attack us, they just looked at us before turning around and walking away. I was confused, I looked at Adam, he looks just as confused as me, don't they normally want to kill us..? We both shrugged and turned around continuing to walk back home.

"That was weird" He nods, we get to camp and I put the girls down, I smiled.

"Now you girls be good to your care takers, I'll see you soon" I played with their hair and smiled, giving them a hug, they left with their caregivers.

I looked at Adam, he grabs me and hugs me, leaning his head on top of mine.

"I'm so glad you're getting better" I smiled, hugging him back.

We have school tomorrow great.. Can't wait.. Well the only reason I go to school is to see my friends but I'm still a little scared to go near people. Adam looks me in the eyes and leans down, his eyes go up and down my face, I leaned up and we kissed, his lips so soft and magical, sparks and tingles shot through me. I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck, he smiles, looking at me, leaning his forehead on mine.
