Shiv's POV

We arranged all the evidence we collected till now and we couldn't understand a damn thing

"It is really weird that we couldn't find anything about Varma's partner", Sameer said, looking at the evidence.

"Look guys!!!", Veer called out.

"What is it? Did you find something about him?" Aarav asked.

"No, this pen drive has already been decrypted", he said in a state of shock and confusion.

"So? One less work for us to do", Aarav said, shrugging it off.

"No. It means someone else already went through the data in this drive", I said, horrified and everyone was surprised.

"Quick, Veer! Check if it has anything about Varma's partner", Sameer said.

"No not a damn thing.", he said, unsurprised after he skimmed through the data.

"I knew it", Sameer yelled in frustration.

"Somebody is messing with us", I said.

"I better visit the base as soon as possible. We should report this to them", Sameer sighed.

"At least we got to know something about the crime", Veer said, catching our attention.

"The famous Varma Industries is allegedly responsible for the death of 40 students in the DH Orphanage due to providing low quality medical supplements", he read as we were all left shunned.

"Isn't that where we grew up?" Sameer asked as if he couldn't believe what he just heard.

"Yeah... The following drive contains the interrogations conducted with Rahul Varma and—", Veer stopped.

"This is all that bastard left us", he said fuming

"The interrogation video with the other guy is deleted, right?" Aarav guessed.

"Yes", I nodded.

"Wait, there's something else in here", Sameer said as he opened a little note that was written in the laptop we retrieved.

"Whoever finds this, I beg you to protect this from Varma. He is trying to destroy this evidence to cover up his crime. His partner is also a cunning man with power. This needs to be protected from both of them."

He looked up at us as he finished reading.

"What do you think would have happened to the person who wrote this note?" I asked, not wanting my prediction to be true.

"Forty plus one, I guess", Aarav answered.

"He went on a killing streak without any remorse", Veer said, clenching his fist.

"We need to do this to make Varma pay for his sins", I said as they all agreed.

Sameer's POV

I was standing outside the cafe, thinking back about what Sara said to me. It made me more confused.

If I'm not ready to leave, I should have the courage to stay, right?

It was impossible for me to throw it all away when I knew she loves me too.

All I need is a little more time. And luckily, I can get that as she still doesn't know that I'm aware of her feelings for me.

Suddenly, my phone rang and brought me back from my thoughts.
