On a Date

Aarav's POV

I met Diya outside our house. She was looking really beautiful in a medium length yellow dress.

"Shall we go?" I asked her excitedly.

"Okay... but where are we going?" she asked with a smile.

"Wherever you like", I said as I looked at her.

"Then let's visit my favourite restaurant in the town. I'm sure you'll like it too", she said as we walked towards the car.

We reached the restaurant in a few minutes. The place looked nice. It wasn't very crowded. We sat at a table in the corner. The waiter immediately approached us and took our orders.

"You'll definitely like the food here", Diya said, smiling.

"So what do you do? Do you work? Or do you study?" I asked to get to know her better than just the fact that we are neighbours.

"I... I'm working at a small business. It's nothing to brag about to be honest", she said nervously.

"Then what can I say about my work? I'm literally working in a café", I said, laughing.

"Really!?" she asked, surprised.

"Yeah. And our work is not something to be ashamed of", I said as we shared a genuine smile.

"That's right", she agreed.

Ishita's POV:

I was waiting outside the park where Shiv asked me to come. We were supposed to meet in the morning. But due to some issues, Shiv couldn't come.

So we rescheduled our date to the evening. He was apologizing for this delay. But I really didn't mind. He is really working hard and he deserves some rest.

I saw Shiv coming into the park and I waved at him.

"Hi, were you waiting here for a long time?" He asked.

"No, I just arrived here a few minutes ago", I said, smiling.

"Thanks for understanding my situation", he said, looking down.

Seriously? Is he still feeling guilty?

"Shiv", I called him

"You don't have to feel guilty for not being able to meet me in the morning"

"You are just being nice and understanding towards me. But I couldn't even do the bare minimum for you"

"Who said you couldn't do it? You are really amazing and kind. And not being able to be on time, c'mon it's something that happens to everyone".

He stared at me like I was some alien.

"What!? Is something wrong with my face?" I asked, puzzled.

"No.... I'm just wondering how did I meet such a wonderful person like you", he said, blushing.

And that made me blush too

"So you don't wanna know why I couldn't be on time?" he asked.

"You overslept, right?" I said, chuckling.

"Wow... how did you know?" he asked, surprised.

"That's the most common reason and I could feel the sleepiness in your voice when you called me", I said, laughing. This guy is truly innocent

"I didn't think of that", he too laughed.

He bought us ice cream and we sat on a bench.

"Where do you work?" Shiv asked, breaking the silence.
