Am I the asshole for not being my sister's friend go-to babysitter?

I, 16 female/male/enby, have an older sister, Elena 20 female, who has a friend, Caroline also 20 female. Caroline has twin daughters Josie and Lizzie both are 4.

I have trauma from childhood and I try to maintain a child free life. I don't mind babysitting for Caroline every other week, but lately it's been almost every night that Caroline has dropped the girls off at my house to babysit. She makes every excuse in the book as to why she can't keep them.

I found out that her and Elena were actually going out and reliving their teenage years. Elena had convinced Caroline to do it because she wants to be an aunt and she thinks that by forcing me to take care of the girls I'll be convinced that I want them as well.

She was wrong of course. While Josie and Lizzie are great kids, it just confirmed that while parenthood isn't for me, I'll settle being the fun aunt/uncle or godparent.

I got mad and stopped babysitting all together. Any time Caroline tried to force me to babysit I would decline and say that I was busy. This pissed Elena off and she just abruptly dropped the girls off on my front porch without telling me.

The only reason that I knew they were there was because Lizzie wouldn't stop ringing the doorbell.

I called their father and he came and picked them up. I later found out that he called Caroline and went off on her for abandoning their kids. Now her and Elena are angry at me and calling me an asshole for not doing them this 'favor'.

Am I really the asshole?
