Am I the asshole, for treating my sister's father-in-law like a doctor?

(Bella x biologically female sibling)

I, female/trans male/enby 18, recently looked into a surgery with my dad, 42 male.

Unfortunately, the doctor assigned to me is my sister Bella's, 19 female, father-in-law Carlisle, 38 male.

I, at first, protested for a different doctor, but after being told that he was the best and him reassuring me that he could act professional and keep any personal feelings under wraps. So I reluctantly told him why I came in.

I want a hysterectomy.

This made Carlisle frown and ask "Are you sure? You're still really young" after explaining how I wanted this surgery since I was 13, he then said "I'll get started on the paperwork and consent forms, but you'll have to speak to a therapist" I agreed, but then he asked "Do you have a husband or boyfriend?"

This made me uncomfortable, but I answered "No, I have a girlfriend" he frowned again and nodded saying "That's okay. Your father can sign for it" I gave him a look and tried to keep my temper in check as I asked why. He then went on about how I needed a male family member to sign for me to have this surgery, and how it was just procedure to have a man's consent over my body despite him and another male doctor (who will also be male by the way) signing for me.

That's when I lost it on him and requested a new doctor who didn't ask for my dad's signature because he also thought that Carlisle's request was dumb since I was 18 and paying for it myself.

My dad and I went home, only to receive an angry phone call from my sister yelling at me about how disrespectful I was to her father-in-law and how I didn't need a hysterectomy.

Neither my dad or I told her what surgery I was getting, and no one else knew. That means that Carlisle violated HIPA law and told my sister my personal medical information without my consent.

So I did the only calm and rational thing to do in this situation.......

And sued Carlisle.

Now I'm apparently the asshole for suing my sisters FIL, but am I really?
