(Jeremy Gilbert x sibling reader)
I, 19 female/male/enby, am getting married to the love of my life, Klaus.
My parents died when I was in high school so they would only be able to attend in spirit. Klaus was not close with his parents so he's no contact with them and I never met them. I am however very close with my older brother, Jeremy.
So one afternoon when we were all planning the wedding with my fiancé, my bridesmaids (Bonnie, Rebekah, and Freya), and my brother when I asked him to walk me down the aisle.
My older adoptive sister, Elena, who I'm not close with and doesn't like Klaus was eavesdropping on the conversation and blew up upon hearing the question.
She said that it was already bad enough that I didn't make her a my maid of honor or at least a bridesmaid, but now she as the eldest sibling didn't get to walk me down the aisle was unacceptable.
She accused me of playing favorites between her and Jeremy because she was adopted whereas Jeremy was my biological brother. I told her that that was untrue because even before we found out about the adoption I was closer to Jeremy because she's always been an entitled brat and a stuck up bitch to me for no reason.
I told her that she had her chance to be a good sister to me and have the opportunity to be apart of this next chapter in my life, but she lost that opportunity by being a terrible sister, and her using her being adopted as a way to guilt trip and gaslight me was further proof that I made the right decision.
She's now telling everyone in town who will listen what an awful person I am and some have suggested that I have both Jeremy and Elena walk me down the aisle or have her take on the mother of the bride role at least.
These comments are starting to weigh down on me and I'm wondering if I should just give in.
