"And where have you two been?"
When we got back inside the castle, Monaca was waiting for us at the entrance. Something about the way her deathly green, unblinking irises widened to the sides like a cat tracking its prey was unsettling to me..."We've...been playing hide and seek," Jataro replied nervously. "that's not a problem, right?"
"Hide and seek...now that doesn't seem right to me..." She said sulkily, folding her arms under her chest. She was like an evil child-queen, residing atop her throne, staring down at us, the offenders, to be executed within her judgement. She was but a little girl, but almost every tiny movement she made squirmed my insides like scurrying snakes.
She knows!
Those emerald eyes, like a telescope reaching in and out of my brain...
Well...do you know or do you not?!
What if...there were cameras? What if someone had told her? Maybe Jataro himself? This time...I would not be spared at all...
"That's not fair to the rest of us, is it?" She said, shattering all those dreadful thoughts back inside my twisting entrails.
"Leaving me, Kotoko and Masaru all alone? Having all the fun to yourself? Hasn't anyone told you...that the more the merrier?""Ah...I'm sorry about that," I said quickly, not trusting Jataro to run his mouth. "I promise the next time, we will surely invite everyone."
"Sounds good to me!" She said, beaming. "By the way, Big Sis Y/N, did you happen to hide in the dungeons in your little game at all?"
My heart dropped.
"The-The dungeons?"
"Yes. The dungeons. They're five hundred metres to the left of the exit, located seven feet underground."
"N-No, I wasn't hiding there. We didn't wander far from the garden."
She stared at me amusedly for a few seconds as if to catch a lie and order monochrome Monokumas to take me away immediately. I refused to blink and held a gulp which which clogged my throat so badly it stung.
"Okie-dokie," she said finally, the word commanding air up my nostrils again.
"Don't go inside the dungeons. There are rats in there."

"So...anyway. What were you and Nagisa upto?"The two of them had returned at about ten o clock in the night. Servant and me sat alone in the dining table, now that all five children had gone to bed.
"You wanna know?" He smiled and pierced a piece of mashed potatoes and ate it.
"Yes, if you'd tell me."
"Promise to keep it a secret?"
"I don't have anybody else to tell it to."
"Oh. Right. Duh!" He giggled a little excitedly.
"I think...well- I think I have a little infatuation!""Um...is that so?"
"And...I went to meet them just today!
"The person I went to meet...oh Miss, if you would've seen them you would have swooned on the spot, that's how blindingly brilliantly their radiant hope shines upon us all! It dims even the sun!""Oh...they're that cool?"
It stung a little that he was talking about somebody else in this way...and after all we did, too..."Do you want to meet them?" The luckster washed his hand in the sink. Of course, the mitten remained.
"Well...I wouldn't really mind..."
"It's very hard to get to meet them though. They are very serious and don't appreciate humour or tardiness. But they're very important in order for us to restore her."
