"What's so beautiful about a Talent..."I muttered indifferently, trying to not look too pleased.
But the truth was...being so earnestly praised had never felt so good.

"What's beautiful about a Talent?!" He scoffed incredulously.
"What's not beautiful about a Talent? It's the very embodiment of hope, practicality, and accomplishments!"

"Fine, I get it." I said quickly, the last thing I wanted to waste time on being one of his absorbingly satire lectures of hope and despair.

"So...it's not like I care about the frivolous pact we shared but since I quenched your insatiable obsessions with Talents and Ultimates... it'd...be only fair if you kept your part of the bargain-"

"Wow, you seriously wanna know?" He asked skeptically.
"I thought you wouldn't even remember something infinitesimal like that!"

"..."

"But there it is. That's the prosaic name I, the Ultimate Luck was given.
"My name is...Nagito Komaeda."

Nagito.
Nagito Komaeda.
The straightforward pronunciation of the denomination felt too simple to be true.

The person who I had addressed as "Servant" and "Subject 11A56", deeming him into an entity less than the status of a human- had a name as well.

"The air feels easier to breathe now that we've carried out our vow," he chuckled pleasantly.
Sure enough, the sky had alternated from the usual malevolent crimson to a pewter-silver-grey.

Did it actually get easier to breathe?

"Listen now...Y/N," the Serv-
Nagito said, taking my hand in two of his. I stared down at them but didn't withdraw mine away.

"I've got a plan. I have a raw idea I made up in my head in the time we climbed up the tower.
"It will probably never be as faultless as the Ultimate Spy's plan. But it's a task all the same. But like everything, there's something I have to sacrifice...it's probably nothing to you, but it's quite a little endearing to me. So, put your trust in me..."

"What is it?" I hushed, moving closer to him. It felt like he held his breath in surprise at the sudden gesture.

"Well...um, you want to know that right now?"

"Of course I do! Monaca's getting impatient, I need that plan before the Future Foundation gets here!"

"Well then, please forgive me, but it's impossible to be direct right now..."

"What do you mean-"

"Do you remember...when I was with you once...and I said when I had to say goodbye I would kiss your hand?"

"What?"

"It was the other amnesiac version of you. Yes. I'm aware. But... unfortunately I don't have enough time to revive your memories. I don't even have enough time to... elaborate the complicated stuff that's going through my head right now, it's-"

Nagito's flustered face turned redder, if that were possible. He impatiently ran a hand through his hair, trying to form words.

"Nevermind. My thoughts aren't important.
What's important is...you survive."

"Nagito, I don't understand you, I never have."

I looked at the ground quietly. My face was stinging strangely- it felt like I had done something extremely humiliating and cringey.

"Whatever you feel, just say it. There's not enough time left. Just go ahead. Forget what's important and what's not. Because you feel your name wasn't important. You feel your thoughts aren't worthy of being expressed. I think you have a very depressing definition of what significance is. So just-"
