"Are you alright?"
A short man in a suit and tie held his hand out to Y/N- who was huddled up in a corner of the abandoned streets, covered in bruises and dirt.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Makoto. Makoto Naegi." He answered simply, crouching on his knees, next to her. He had soft emarald eyes, a spiky crop of light brown hair and a kindly, baby face.

"I'm from the Foundation. We're an organisation that's going to save this world," he said, looking around with immense sadness in his eyes.

"Not just innocent and normal people, Ultimates have died as well. The person who was the best in your field turned evil in the Biggest, Most Tragic, Most Awful Event in Human History. He was killed this morning. Which means... you've inherited his Ultimate now. I've been searching for you. So that we can work together. The more people we have on our side, the better, right?"

"Are you going to die too?"
Y/N's broken eyes trailed the strained altar.

"I'm sorry?"

"Are you going to recruit me...help me out of a hell and then disappear as well?"

"Well...I'm not sure what you mean, but...I don't plan on disappearing any time soon!" He let out a small chuckle and tilted his head up at her.
"And this isn't hell! This is the world just going through a bad time. Don't humans go through a hard time as well? Doesn't mean we're all devils!"

"Just what are you implying?"

"I'm saying with your help, I can restore the hope in this world. That hope's not dead, it's just asleep! It can be reawakened!"

"I'm not sure I can help. I'm hungry, I'm tired, and I have no-"

He suddenly stood up and helped her to her feet.
"Come along! The helicopter's just up ahead!"

"I really can't go. I think my leg's broken."

"I'll help you! Here, reach your arm around my back...and-"
He slung her arm over his neck and held on tight to her wrist. Because of her unsightly limp, it took them longer to get to the awaiting helicopter than it took him to get here.

"Why are you so..." Y/N started, grumbling laboriously.

"Am I what?"

"Why're you so...kind? For the lack of a better word. I just met you..."

"Well, we aren't strangers anymore!" He laughed.
"I'm Makoto, like I just said- and you're the Ultimate-"

"I'm not an Ultimate."

"Are too! I told you, the previous holder's talent has been passed on to you! You were the next best progeny, and now you're officially the best!

Officially...the best...huh?

"You're here!"
Byakuya exclaimed in disbelief. He had been pacing around in his cell in anxiety, abruptly stopping he clutched the bars as I inserted and turned the key in.

"It's almost midnight..I thought you failed like last time-"

"I only failed because Toko betrayed me for you." I said disgruntled, not taking kindly to the failure remark.

"Ah...I should've expected this..." The Servant murmured to himself more than the two of us.
"You had a whole plan waiting after all...and here I thought you had given up. Noted, I'll never underestimate an Ultimate ever again!"
