I was inspired by Fireslash97's Halo X Male odst reader. so I thought might make my own. This story takes places during Reach all the way up to Halo 4. cause we don't speak about Halo 5.
The sound of the alarm from the banshee filled my ears while it continues to fall from the sky like a metal brick. After the slipspace bomb went off I barely had time to get way before I got hit by the Ion pulse and was now dropping through Reach's atmosphere.
"Come on...come on you piece of junk move... move." I said fighting at the controls before the banshee finally responded and I had control of the craft but I had one other problem I was about to hit the ground so at the last second I pulled up enough to not crash and the banshee skidding across the top of a few threes and skidding across the ground until I came to a stop when the front of the craft hit a large boulder. After I got over the impact I pop open the top of the banshee and crawled out of it and looked at the couple of tress and dirt I picked up.
"I didn't train to be a pilot. I hope I don't have anymore flying to do today." I said knowing damn well I might have later on. I checked my ammo for my DMR and pistol and started to walk away from the wreckage. It was a bit of a hike to the outskirts of the city New Alexandria meeting no resentence from covenant forces. There was plasma burns in the wall a battle happen her a few minutes ago. Making my way through the streets before I heard growling nearby by so I rushed over to see a wolf dog rip the throat out of a skirmisher but I notice he took a hit in the leg. After the wolf dog got done with his prey he tried to walk away but he fell. Rushing over I looked at his leg.
"Easy boy you took a nasty hit I'm surprise you had enough strength to take out that lizard." I said looking around for a med kit. I grab the kit and opened it up and took out some alcohol and bandages and started to clean the dogs wound. The dog yelp and growled at me but I kept fixing the dog up.
"I know it hurts but I'm trying to help you." I said bandaging up the wound and petted the wolf dog.

After a few minutes the wolf dog looked at me and I looked at him before he licked my face.
"I take that as a thank you?" I asked before before two falcons fly over head and the coms crackled to life.
"This is Kilo Dispatch: all available teams, advance to Traxus Tower. Evacuation will commence ASAP." Kilo Dispatch said
"This is Gunnery Sergeant Pete Stacker. Copy, Dispatch. What's the status of the tower pad?" Asked Stacker.
"Tower pad is green. Let's move these civilians before it changes." Replied Kilo Dispatch.
"Copy, Dispatch. Four-Zero out." Said Stacker.
"Kilo Dispatch this is Lt. Y/n I'm in route to tower hard Copy over?" I asked
"Copy Sgt." Said Kilo Dispatch. I looked at the wolf dog and he looked back to me.
"Well looks like your with me now." I said while the dog barked in agreement. I smiled and thought of a name for him.
"How does the name Balto sound to you?" I asked before Balto barked a few more times and wagged his tail he liked it.
