I was inspired by Fireslash97's Halo X Male odst reader. so I thought might make my own. This story takes places during Reach all the way up to Halo 4. cause we don't speak about Halo 5.
Chief and Guilty spark was teleported back into halo controls room obviously in the middle of a conversation, explaining something about the Flood.
"...which means that any organism of sufficient mass and cognitive capability is a potential vector." said Guilty spark while Master Chief paused sensing something is not quite right.
"Is something wrong?" asked Guilty Spark.
"No... Nothing." Replied The Master Chief.
"Splendid. Shall we?" asked Guilty Spark while the both of them move towards the main control panel while Guilty Spark was randomly humming.
"Unfortunately, my usefulness to this particular endeavor has come to an end. Protocol does not allow units with my classification to... perform a task as important as the reunification of the Index with the Core. That final step is reserved for you, Reclaimer." said Guilty Spark giving the index to the Master Chief and puts it into a slot on the console which then begins light up ands several holograms appear, but then fade.
"Odd. That wasn't supposed to happen." said Guilty Spark right before Cortana suddenly appears over the console.
"Oh, really!?" said Cortana with a a flash of light and 343 Guilty Spark is thrown back, and down to the ground.
"Cortana!" said The Master chief in surprise.
"I've spent the last 12 hours cooped up in here, watching you toady about, helping that thing get set to slit our throats!" said Cortana.
"Hold on now, he's a friend." said The Master Chief.
"Oh! I didn't realize. He's your pal, is he? Your chum? Do you have any idea what that bastard almost made you do?!" asked Cortana in a angrily mocking tone.
"Yes... activate Halo's defenses, and destroy the Flood, which is why we brought the Index to the Control Center." said the Master Chief.
"You mean this?" asked Cortana holding a hologram of the index in her hands.
"A construct?! In the Core?! That is absolutely unacceptable!" said Guilty Spark.
"Sod off!" said Cortana.
"What impertinence! I shall purge you at once!" said Guilty Spark.
"You sure that's a good idea?" asked Cortana with a nasty smile on her face while absorbing the index.
"How... how... how dare you! I'll--" said Guilty Spark in a outrage.
"Do what? I have the Index! You can just float and sputter!" said Cortana. The Master Chief brings both hands up in the middle of them as if to stop a fight, then turns back to face Cortana.
"Enough! The Flood is spreading. If we activate Halo's defenses, we can wipe them out." said The Master Chief.
"You have no idea how this ring works, do you? Why the Forerunners built it? Halo doesn't kill Flood, it kills their food. Humans, Covenant, whatever. We're all equally edible. The only way to stop the Flood is to starve them to death. And that's exactly what Halo is designed to do: Wipe the galaxy clean of all sentient life. You don't believe me? Ask him!" said Cortana pointing at Spark making the Master Chief hesitate and then turns to 343 Guilty Spark.
"Is it true?" asked The Master Chief.
"More or less. Technically, this installation's pulse has a maximum effective radius of twenty-five thousand light years. But, once the others follow suit, this galaxy will be quite devoid of life, or at least any life with sufficient biomass to sustain the Flood. But you already knew that... I mean, how couldn't you?" asked Guilty Spark.
"Left out that little detail, did he?" asked Cortana.
"We have followed outbreak containment procedure to the letter. You were with me each step of the way, as we managed this crisis."
"Chief, I'm picking up movement!" said Cortana with a alarming tone.
"Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done?" asked Guilty Spark
"We need to go, right now." said Cortana with urgency before four Sentinels float up behind 343 Guilty Spark, their beams aimed menacingly on the Chief.
"Last time, you asked me, if it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed." said Guilty Spark. The Master Chief looks around at the Sentinels, and backs towards the panel before taking Cortana's disk out of the console, and inserts it into his helmet.
"There is no choice. We must activate the ring." said Guilty Spark.
"Get - us - out - of - here!" said Cortana in a urgent whisper in the Chief's head
"If you are unwilling to help, I will simply find another. Still, I must have the Index. Give your construct to me, or I will be forced to take her from you."
"That's not going to happen." said The Master Chief aiming his Assault Rifle at the Monitor

"Save his head. Dispose of the rest." said Guilty Spark tot he sentinels before he teleported away and the four sentinels started to shoot their lasers at the Chief. The Master Chief dodged and weaved through the lasers and charged up his plasma pistol and took them all out with a overcharged shot but we wasn't out of the woods just yet for from the dark abyss of the control room a giant sentinel enforcer rose and started to fire on the master Chief firing missiles at him (a/n: yes I will be using more stuff from the SPV3 of Halo)
It was hard fight Chief used almost everything he had in order to take out the enforcer before it to was turned into scrap. Once the room was cleared Chief headed to the panel to open the doors to the control room.
"We can't let the Monitor activate Halo. We have to stop him - we have to destroy Halo. According to my analysis of the available data, I believe the best course of action is somewhat... risky. An explosion of sufficient size will help destabilize the ring, and will cut through a number of primary systems. We need to trigger a detonation on a large scale, however. A star ship's fusion reactors going critical would do the job. I'm going to search what's left of the Covenant battlenet, and see if I can locate the Pillar of Autumn's crash site. If the ship's fusion reactors are still relatively intact, we can use them to destroy Halo." said Cortana right before the doors opened only to be greeted by more sentinels but luck was on his side some for Covenant force where also being attacked by the sentinels something The chief was glad about. Let the both of them fight each other and all he has to do is take out the remining enemy that was gonna be easy but not for Y/n and the others at Alpha base.
