I was inspired by Fireslash97's Halo X Male odst reader. so I thought might make my own. This story takes places during Reach all the way up to Halo 4. cause we don't speak about Halo 5.
Things where not going well for Y/n, Balto and the rest of the marines at Alpha base well it felt more like a hellish nightmare for them. The whole base was completely in chaos bullet holes cover most of the structures dead bodies of the flood laid motionless on the ground along with several marines who fell victim to the infection forms of the flood which was spreading like wildfire. Y/n, Balto and the remining of the bases marines tried to fight back the flood but it was a losing battle and on top of that they where running low on ammo.
"Damn it they just keep coming." said a marine killing a jackal but this was no ordinary bird this was a flood jackal combat carrier that popped like a balloon and several infections form spew out and rushed the poor marine didn't even have the chance to fight back.

Y/n Pov
"This is bad real bad." I said Y/n blasting another of those things with my shotgun but they kept coming.
"All remaining marines fall back to the second level of the base... I repeat fall back to the second level...agh!!!!!!" screamed a marine over the coms.
"Come on Balto time to go." I said falling back to the second level blasting my way through the horde of these things that was blocking my way while trying to conserve ammo which was running.
"This is not good." I said before ran around the corner only to see a group of those things huddle up. They spotted me and started to rush towards me but I notice a red barrel near them so I pulled out my pistol and shot it making it explode sending those things flying and on fire.
"Burn bitches." I said reloading my pistol before I heard heavy footsteps and my eyes widen when I saw a new foe appearing from the flames something much more bigger then the others.

"Holy crap." I said opening up on the new foe but the thing was not taking any damage at all while it swung it's long tentacle arms around swiping things away moving closer before it swung its arms towards me. I duck, dodged and rolled out of the way while it's arms continue to trash the place.
"How do I stop this thing?" I asked before noticing it was near some fuel canister so with the last of my ammo I shot at it making the blow up and sending the flames spewing into the creatures direction but I was caught in the explosion and I was sent flying backwards hitting my head on side of the wall knocking me out and everything went dark after that. before knocking me and Balto flying into the side of a wall knocking me out.
3rd person Pov
Meanwhile The Master Chief had just taken out the second phase pulse generator thanks to Cortana turning his shields into a make shift EMP that disrupted the generators giving them some time and making 343 Guilty Spark and his sentinels to stop and try to repair. After taking out the second generator Chief and Cortana fought their way passed flood and sentinels that where fighting each other along with the Covenant being a three way battle and to make things worse flood biomass started to form in most places around Halo from the walls to the ceilings.
"I've located the Pillar of Autumn. She put down twelve-hundred kilometers up spin. Energy readings show her fusion reactors are still powered up. The systems on the Pillar of Autumn have fail safes that even I can't override, without authorization from the Captain. We'll need to find him or his neural implants, to start the fusion core detonation. One target remaining. Let's take care of the final pulse generator." said Cortana while Chief flew into the canyon that was below where he had disabled the second generator. Flying through the canyon The Covenant where in a fight against the flood but Chief flew passed them and flew around a corner of the tunnel barely by a inch dodge a rocket flood that fired a rocket at his banshee but he continued on until he got to the end of the tunnel and had to get out of the banshee to open the door but when he did the door blew open but didn't open all the way but enough for Chief to walk on through. On the other side flood biomass was all over the place like a wildfire and the air was becoming more thick and moldy. Thinking to himself this must been what Guilty Spark was saying about how the flood molded the atmospheres but then again being in the cold kind of slow the flood spread a little.

Crossing the bridge to the other side was not a walk in the park for Chief was faced with a swarm of flood from the infection forms to the flood jackals the worse of them all but Chief pushed on through and opened the door and down the hallway tunnel that lead to the outside and up the snowy embankment fighting his way through an armada of both Flood and Covenant with supporting vehicles while Cortana mark the location of the last generator on his HUD. After dealing with the remaining flood that was left thanks to the wraiths Chief hopped into one of the banshees and took off heading to the last generator only to met with some sentinels that where fighting some flood which he thin both sides out before walking up to the generator and his shield activated the EMP burst disabling it and destroying ant sentinels that where around.
"Final target neutralized. Let's get out of here." said Cortana.
"Let's find a ride, and get to the Captain."
"No, that'll take too long." said Cortana.
"You have a better idea?" asked The Master Chief
"There's a teleportation grid that runs throughout Halo. That's how the Monitor moves about so quickly. I learned how to tap into the grid when I was in the Control Center. Unfortunately, each jump requires a rather... consequential expenditure of energy."
"Something tells me I'm not gonna like this." said The Master Chief.
"But I'm pretty sure I can take the needed energy from your suit without permanently damaging your shields. Needless to say, I think we should only try this once."
"Do it." said The Master Chief before he was teleported away
