I was inspired by Fireslash97's Halo X Male odst reader. so I thought might make my own. This story takes places during Reach all the way up to Halo 4. cause we don't speak about Halo 5.

After dropping off Balto back at Alpha Base and restocked on weapons and ammo. Chief and I where heading towards the last know location of Captain Keyes. Echo- 419 started to lower us into a swap area.
"The last transmission from the Captain's dropship was from this area. But that was over 12 hours ago. "We've been unable to re-establish contact with the Captain or his team. I'll stay in the neighborhood in case the area's hot. When you locate Captain Keyes, radio in and I'll come pick you up." said Foehammer. The both of us jumped into the knee deep swampy water. (a/n: Yes I used the restored lines from the halo spv3 mod that was cut from the original game)
"Thanks, Be sure to bring me a towel." I said making her chuckle .
"Good luck, gentlemen." said Foehammer taking off into the air.
So here we are , lost in a dense jungle with nothing but marshes and moonlight seeping in through the trees above, what little beams manage to penetrate the pea-souper. Moving through the water we come across a downed pelican drop ship that crashed during takeoff that was playing a message.

It was full of static, making it hard to hear: "Dropship Victor 9...Pillar of Autumn. ...assistance. We are under attack by some new kind of hostile...isn't covenant. Captain Keyes has been captured by monsters...dug in in a large structure in a swamp....long we can hold out. Please...! I will send this message to repeat at....intervals. Dropship Victor 933 clear!"

(a/n: this is what the message says: "This is Dropship Victor 933 to Pillar of Autumn: If anyone (can hear me we need immediate(?)) assistance. We are under attack by some new kind, of hostile (...) that isn't Covenant! Captain Keys has been captured by hostiles (...) dug in at a large structure in the swamp (... (I don't(?)) know how long we can hold out, please- (...) I will set this message to repeat at (...(message loops every 6 seconds)) intervals. Dropship Victor 933, clear!" )
"There's nothing we can do here we better keep moving." I said looking around. On the ground I spotted some shotguns and some ammo. I smiled and picked one up and loaded it. The shotgun would come in handy. The both of us pressed on taking out a small group of jackals and grunts. There was something that got me thinking. There was no elites around, I mean surely they would be some elites but no just jackals and grunts. My thoughts where interrupted when I saw something moving in the distance I could barely make it out. Proceeding across a fallen tree Chief and I came to a large structure where a few grunts and jackals where running out of. We killed the group before slowly making our way inside and got on a lift that took us down deeper into the structure. No doubt there will be more hostiles.
