Another desert. That's where we were. Another fucking desert planet with more goddamn sand. Force, I hated sand.
"Why did it have to be another kriffing Tantooine?" I asked the Mandalorian as we exited the Razor Crest.
"Bring your blaster," he told me.
"Already have it," I replied, approaching his side. "Did you really think I was going on a bounty without a way to defend myself?"
"You've been a little frazzled lately," he commented.
"Frazzled?" I questioned, pushing my way through the sandy ground.
"You know," he tried. "With your nosebleeds and that nightmare. And about that Darth Maul guy."
"Didn't know you cared enough to pay attention," I replied. A throwaway comment at most.
He stopped suddenly, turning to face me in the sun. I stopped with him.
"I pay attention," he told me sternly. "If there's one thing I do, its that."
I shook my head. "What a Bounty Hunter you are."
"Aria – "
A loud roar echoed around us and Mando was suddenly thrown from his position, flying across the sand.
"Mando!" I screaming, turning to face the creature that had rushed him. "Oh for kriffs sake."
It was a Blurgg. A kriffing Blurgg in the middle of a damn desert. How much bad luck did we have?
Taking out my blaster, I pointed it towards the creature, shooting quickly. Its attention turned from the Mandalorian now struggling to stand and moved to me.
"Kriff," I cursed as it broke out into a sprint.
I fell to the ground, tumbling to the side before it could reach me. Moving onto my hunkers, I reached for my lightsaber, taking it from its hold on my belt.
"Do not harm the creature Jedi!" a shout came, a man riding up to us on another Blurgg.
The one that had been primed to attack calmed as a dart hit its hide, blue sparks running over its body before it fell to the ground, unconscious.
I turned quickly, sensing something behind me only to find another Blurgg falling to the ground as electricity jolted it.
"It was trying to kill me," I argued, placing the weapon back in its hold and standing.
"Since when did a Jedi kill for as little as that?"
"I never said I was a Jedi."
"Thank you," the Mandalorian spoke up, approaching my side.
"You are bounty hunters," he observed.
"Yes," Mando answered for the two of us.
"I will help you," the man, alien by the looks of it. Ugnaught maybe. "I have spoken."
I nodded at his words. "Ugnaught," I told the man beside me. "He's an Ugnaught."
Mando winced, holding his shoulder. "Are they friendly?" he asked.
"Are you hurt?"
He shook his head. "Fine."
"You're such a horrible liar. I'll take a look at it once we find safety."
"I don't – "
"Don't argue with me Mando," I dismissed him, moving forward. "Meh gar kyrayc, shuk bah ni. (You're no use to me dead.)" The Ugnaught had begun to move, the Blurgg that had tried to kill us still unconscious as we did.
