The strong presence of trepidation filled the bedroom. Emotions mixed in one swirl did set the dreadful ambience around them. Pure horror settled itself as the three quietly rummaged their minds for a solution to put an end to Malfoy's suffering and cruel actions.

Malfoy stood there in front of them, a threat, unpredictably dangerous. Malfoy has always been unpredictable, but this time it was different as it was their lives that they were gambling with fate's game of violence. Their uneven paces of breathing seemed to synchronize as they stood on their knees that quivered— depleted with fright.

Lucius was troubled by his uncertainty, the exact opposite of Narcissa's firm stand on her choice— not to hurt her son. Hermione was squeezing herself hard against the headboard and watching his blood-red eyes dig deep into her gaze. The fire of bravery in her eyes seemed to gradually fade as her body dropped weaker as time passed by.

Lucius' wand hand shook as he clutched the wood tightly, reluctant about what to do. Narcissa's cold, pale and bloody hands wrapped around his wrist, pleading with her heart— her eyes rimmed in red, eyes glossed with tears.

"Don't. It's our son... Draco is still in there— he's there... please Lucius— he's just a boy," she pleaded — tears escaping her eyes.

Lucius' knuckles cracked as he gripped his wand again, his jaw clenched as the voices in his head fought between their safety, the motherly pleas of his wife, or Malfoy's life.

The thirst for blood did not wait for any ideas to be contemplated. Malfoy crashed himself onto Hermione on his bed. He grabbed her by the hair, slamming her down violently on the marble floor. Hermione gagged on a groan - her lungs felt tugged out of her ribcage.

Narcissa shrieked in horror. Her son was violent— her boy was lost and deadly. Lucius shielded her as they staggered a step back. Lucius' eyes were alarmed, worried, and baffled.

Hermione was too weak to fight Malfoy off— tears flowed with utmost freedom. Malfoy settled himself on top of her. His breathing went frantic as her scent grew more potent now that she was closer. He placed her beneath him, between his knees, like prey to be devoured with no glint of mercy nor pity.

Malfoy was lost. The old Malfoy was not in there anymore. He was gone— swallowed by the commands of the monster inside him. He lost to the monster in his blood. That night, a monster was born, living to his pure magical blood— using his body to do such things. Things even Hermione Granger never thought he would do. Not even to a muggle-born like her.

Hermione was losing herself as well. Losing her light in the darkness that slowly ate her wake. The sounds around her faded into a distant echo. She was losing herself. The darkness was winning. Like him, she lost herself as well. They both lost to the monster in his blood. Such bittersweet irony.

Something sharp dug into her skin— the last thing she felt before the deep darkness took her. She was too weak to even acknowledge the pain as he cut into her skin with a broken piece of glass he found on the floor, reaching for her warm and beating heart.

"LUCIUS NO!" Narcissa cried— broken and frantic to save her son as her husband whisked her behind him, proceeding with a war stance towards Malfoy, who was being controlled by his gruesome bloodlust.

"Get away from her! Draco!" Lucius demanded— voice filled with authority and power, holding his wand ready for any sudden and dangerous movements from his son.

"Lucius!" Narcissa warned with firmness as tears stained her cheeks.

Malfoy seems to not hear anything. He was focused. Too focused to notice his father. Malfoy was too occupied tasting Hermione's warm blood on a piece of broken glass he used to carve the skin on her chest near her heart. The sound of her blood flowing inside her veins was too loud that it hurt his ears— calling for him.
