Rather Be The Devil

His stomach broiled and turned over into itself. A tendril of dark energy clawed at him. "We can't save them, it's too late. He's already there." He gasped as his tears evaporated. "I can see...Me?" His face was corrupted by horror. "No, No!" He screamed as his sight burned through him.

He spat out blood and it sizzled on the floor. His blood began to carve an unnamable symbol into the hardwood. "No!" He screamed out one last time before he exploded into a cloud temporal mist. vanishing into the time stream. His scream still echoed like a force in the wind.

"Calvin!" Gar screamed as he fell to his knees. The Carrion Amulet had begun to blister his skin. The light flickering inside of the trinket's eyes illuminated. The heat from within boiled the blood. He panted as he lifted his tearful eyes to the steaming symbol.

"Where did he go, Rachel?" He asked. His hands trembled as his arms adjusted to Calvin no longer being in them.

"I don't know. But I know the seal is broken now," She said. "Before he vanished, I saw into his mind. I saw what he saw. I-I watched the world end."

A figure manifested out of the steam. A man, with milky white hair and skin to match. Old, and holding a flickering glow of white light around him. He chuckled at the Lord of Chaos on the ground. "Lord of Chaos," He scoffed. "You know nothing of chaos."

"Who are you?" Asked Gar. "And what have you done with Calvin?" He growled as he approached the man.

Iyanna grabbed his arm. "Don't," She said as she locked eyes with the man. "He's the only one that can help us."

"Who is he?" Asked Gar. He yanked his arm free of her. His eyes fell away from the man as the amulet began to levitate on his neck.

"I'm the one who cannot be named. The one who created the amulet around your neck. The one who will rid this new multiverse of the Eskaton once and for all. Before the imbecile Calvin Breach gives her what she wants." He spat. "I am: Nameless One."

"You created the Carrion Amulet?" Gasped Gar. His brows wove together. "How are you alive?"

"Better yet, where the hell were you in the Entropy?" Rachel demanded.

"Pandora's Box is a powerful prison, Child," Said Nameless One. "Even Gods fall victim."

"So we've heard," Gar's eyes flicked to Iyanna. "Why now?" He turned back to Nameless One. "Why are you here now?"

"Because of desperation," Answered Nameless One simply. "Iyanna called me here to bargain. I came to slaughter her and her legions—but I now see she is far more interesting than I imagined." He began to smirk.

"We don't have time for this, Gar, we need to find Cal."

"I can aid you in that. I know a spell—powerful magic—meant to find everything you're looking for." He said.

"Even Calvin?" Asked Gar. His eyes softened with hope.

"Even Calvin," Nameless One vowed. "All it costs is a prick of your blood and a piece of your soul."

Rachel's face twisted. "Absolutely not," She stepped forward and grabbed Gar's forearm. "Gar, we'll find another way." She said.

Gar shrugged her off. "Rach," He began softly. "You said it yourself, we don't have time. I-I have to do this. For Cal."
