chapter 24

(Demi's pov)
I needed my husband. I looked around the delivery room and tears fell from my eyes. not from physical pain, from emotional pain.

Tristan was in a hurry to get out apparently. my water broke at about 2 in the afternoon today & I was supposed to pick joe up at the airport today.

as it turns out Selena's doing it for me, and rushing him here to see me. hopefully Tristan will just wait until his daddy can be here.

the pain in my body was just unbearable. my contractions were about 5 minutes apart. i kept looking at the time on my phone. joe and Selena should be here anytime and so should Tristan.

my back was aching, my stomach was cramping, my legs were numb. and the most pain overall was just in my head.

the next thing I knew, I wasn't sure if it was a dream, or the real thing but I saw joes face as he rushed in with Selena and kissed the side of my temple. "hey sweetie." he said and I knew right away he was here.

this made me cry even more, of happiness. because my husband was home.

but the happiness didn't last long as my contractions started coming to 3 minutes apart.

they finally gave me the epidural which helped so much. then it was finally time to start pushing.

with my husband and my best friend by my side, by the end of the day, I had given birth to a healthy baby boy. Tristan Adam Jonas. He was 10 inches long, 5 pounds, and 6 ounces. He was a tiny little thing, being born so early.

Selena was the first to hold him before joe and I. she cried at the honor.

about an hour after giving birth to him, Selena was still there and joe and I had to ask her something.

"Sel." I said to her. "me and joe want to ask you something."

"sure, what?" she asked as she looked up from her iPad. she'd been a little bored.

joe stared down at Tristan caressing his little baby hand with his finger while Tristan lay sleeping in his arms.

"will you be Tristan's godmother?" joe asked her.

she smiled and teared up. "yes" she said with a nod.
