I sat in the car with demi and it was a long, quiet ride. I was tempted to ask her what had happened, or how it went. the questions were just itching and itching in my mind.

we got in the house, and finally i couldn't take it anymore. "Demi, what happened?" I asked her.

she just looked down without answering. she went back to the bedroom thinking I'd leave her alone, but clearly she was mistaken. I followed every step she took. "Demi." i said. "don't walk away from me." i said firmly.

I finally got to the bedroom with her. "Demi." she almost turned away from me before I grabbed her arm.

"talk to me." I begged.

she stared at me and then her lip started to quiver. "I'm pregnant." she said whimpered before a stream of tears fell down her face.

I bit my lip and smiled. I hugged her. "really?" I asked. this was great news to me. a family with the woman I loved? HELL YEAH.

"you're happy about this?" she asked. I nodded. "yes babe." I told her. she was starting over at the calendar for some reason. I don't know why but she couldn't take her eyes off of it.

"Dems, why are you looking at th-" I stopped and I walked over to the calendar. Pretty soon I'd have to be leaving to go back to Afgan. "Demi..." i said.

she put her face in her hands and started bawling. i walked over and hugged her trying to be comforting. "Demi. it's okay. it'll only be 4 months. well write each other everyday. and i PROMISE. I'll be back in time for you to find out the sex. We're gonna go through this together. I'm coming home demi. I swear."

it was ironic. this time I was the one promising her my safety.

she looked up and put her arms around my torso and squeezed me tightly. "i hope you do. I can't do it alone" she whispered before hurrying her face into my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and brushed my thumb back and forth on her spine. "baby, you want be alone."

I then moved my hands towards her stomach and rubbed my thumb there too. "I love you both so much." i said.

demi smiled and kissed my cheek.
