"Sir, we have a confirmed sighting of the target. Permission to deploy, sir?" You asked as you held your gun close to your side. You looked down to check that your knife was in the sheathe, and your handgun in the holster.

"Permission granted, Lightweight. Don't do anything risky, I need you back in one piece." Graves told you, and you nodded before giving a quick salute. You grabbed an extra mag of ammo from your comrade and stuffed it in your pocket.

Before you could open the door to jump to flat ground, Graves grabbed the front of your bulletproof vest and tugged it gently.

"Don't take the CR, take the AN-94." He instructed while handing you the preferred gun. You quickly attached your scope to it and checked to make sure you had enough ammo to last you the fight.

"Hard copy. I'll be back before you miss me too much." You spoke with a cocky smile. Graves nodded and checked to ensure that your parachute was secure, tugging here and there before giving you the signal to jump.

The aircraft's door opened, and you looked down to see rocky mountains with trees peppered across your view. You took a deep breath before getting a running start, allowing the cold air to envelope you as your feet left the aircraft.

The sound of the engine slowly began to dissipate as you felt like you were moving slowly through the air. Contrary to your perspective though, you were plummeting hundreds of feet towards the ground.

You spread your arms and legs out to help slow yourself, and you held your breath. The strap of your helmet was itchy beneath your chin, causing you to shake your head to ignore it.

You gasped as a sudden explosion erupted to the Northeast, and you quickly connected your comms to Graves.

"Sir! Confirmed detonation to the Northeast, negative on armed personnel." You reported, earning a reply almost instantly.

"Copy that. Shadow-9, use the weaponry and keep Lieutenant L/n out of harms way." You heard in reply, and once you felt it was the right time, you pulled the tag on your left shoulder strap.

The wind made your eyes water, the parachute leaving the pack and taking some time before expanding. Your breath was knocked out of you as you were suddenly pulled back, the parachute ensuring your safety.

"Parachute deployed. Rounding twelve hundred feet, weapons are still secure." You yelled so that your voice would be heard over the wind. You received a "Hard copy." In response, and you began growing closer and closer to the ground.

'Okay, heels down. You can do this, just don't injure yourself.' You gave yourself a mental pep talk as time passed and you were now nearing the ground. Your combat boots suddenly scraped against the soil, rougher and harsher than you last remembered.

You lost your balance before feeling the parachute pull you forward a small amount from the slight breeze. You coughed lightly as you were finally at a stable altitude, your arms and legs tingling with adrenaline.

"Shadow-1, this is Lightweight, also known as Shadow -2. Made it safely to ground level, what are my next orders?" You asked as you pressed the ear piece further into your ear.

"Good work, Lightweight. Your next instructions are to RV with our newfound comrades. Thermal detector says that they are at the bridge, make your way there." Graves ordered, and you nodded to yourself.

"Roger that, sir."

You dusted yourself off, pulling the gun strap off from around your body. You held the AN-94 comfortably in your grasp, your fingerless gloves allowing you to feel the smooth metal.

In the distance, you couldn't see any structures that resembled a bridge. You took a deep breath before you began running towards the cluster of boulders that were blocking your view.
