CHAPTER FORTY-SIX : My Wife

Makulimlim ang kalangitan. Malakas ang hampas ng hangin, na pati ang puno, mga halaman at damo ay sumasayaw sa tyempo na nabubuo. Nakikisabay ang mga ibon sa bugso na nagmumula sa kanluran.

Ilang oras mula ngayon, papatak ang maliit na butil ng ulan hanggang sa ito ay lalakas, magiging bagyo. Isang delubyo ang paparating, isang hindi maiiwasan na trahedya.

Bawat minuto ay mahalaga, sa bawat hakbang na tinatahak, bawat paghinga na nilalabas, at sa bawat butil ng pawis na tumatagaktak, handa na ba ang lahat? Handa nga ba ang lahat? Handa na nga ba ang mga karakter sa pagtatapos ng isa na namang paglabag sa batas ng dyosa ng kapalaran?

"CLARINETTE!"

Napatingin ang lahat ng nasa loob ng kwarto sa isang direksyon ng marinig nila ang sigaw ng Duke sa labas. May bahid ng galit, pag-aalala, at takot ang maririnig sa boses nito. Ilang ulit niyang binigkas ang pangalan ng asawa na para bang magugunaw na ang mundo.

Seisha looked at Altra for a confirmation. The deity of prophecy is holding the sleeping body of the Duchess as Clarinette was talking to Fate.

Isang tango ang binigay ni Altra sa kanya.

"Lord Verlarez," litanya ni Seisha.

Agad naman lumuhod ang binata para tanggapin ang kanyang utos.

"Protect the Queen and the Duchess from the traitor. Do not let anyone enter this room, and who dare disobey the rule I bestow, I gave you the command to end them."

"As you wish, your Majesty."

Valan gave a salutation before he left the guest room. Maririnig pa din ang pagsigaw ng Duke sa labas at sumasabay ito sa kulog.

"Buy time, Seisha. Clarinette hasn't decided yet," said Altra. "Huwag mong pangunahan ang nangyayari. Hindi mo buhay ang nakasalalay dito."

"Do you believe Clarinette will take our side?"

May bahid ng pag-aalala ang mga mata ng Reyna. She's not against what Clarinette will choose, but she couldn't help but fear the future of the Kingdom.

As a person who knows what Clarinette has put through, she will understand whatever Clarinette chooses. But, as a Queen of the Kingdom, she wanted to secure the future of all living inside their land.

"Her reasoning is a gift. Despite everything that happened, Liana doesn't hate. She will never let anyone get hurt because of her. I know this child will choose what is right for both worlds. Let's just wait for her decision."

Altra slowly combed Clarinette's hair as the Duchess was in deep sleep.

Valan went out of the guest house, carrying his sword. The Verlarez clan is one of the royal families of Zegordia who are experts in swordsmanship and armor. As a knight of the Royal Palace, Valan doesn't bring any other weapon except his own sword, because they believed in the idea that a single weapon can be many if the holder knows how to wield it.

The Ansel Cavalry are in their position, ready to attack. They are with horses, bows and arrows, spears, and even guns and swords. Each one has metal armors that protect the vital parts of their body.

While on the other side, were the Duke's platoons, together with the Arc Knights. Malayo ang posisyon ng mga kasama ng Duke. Vyrre calls out Clarinette's name multiple times as he raises his hands up where the Ansels can see it.

Wala siyang hawak na espada o baril. Gusto niya lang iuwi ang kanyang asawa, subalit ng makita niyang papalapit si Valan, mabilis na natikom niya ang kamao.
