rosey: i don't want to get in trouble on my first day..
max: you won't be, you did nothing but stand up for someone. this is bullshit, we shouldn't be being sent here- troy should.
rosey: you talk a lot, hm?
max shrugs her shoulders.
max: no, i don't. not usually.
rosey: guess i'm just that amazing?
max giggles.
rosey: so.. your name is maxine, right?
max: max, nobody calls me maxine- except for when i'm in trouble i guess.
rosey: oh. well, it's nice to meet you max.
rosey smiles.
they arrive at the office, and push through the glass door.

after the two talk with the principal, they get off with a simple punishment, detention after school. by the time the two got out of the office, lunch had already started.
rosey: well, i'm gonna go study in the library, cya later at detention!
rosey giggles.
max waves goodbye.
max: bye!!

max then proceeds to walk down to the hallway towards the canteen.
lucas's pov
lucas picks at his food.
Lucas: do you think max is a... lesbian.
the boys look up at lucas.
mike: er.. no? i never thought of that.
dustin: didn't she also have a boyfriend back in California?
Lucas nods.
will: plus, there was you.
Lucas: where even is she?
will: oh. probably still in the office.
mike: what was she in the office for?
will: it's nothing.
it was still very awkward between mike and will. since the... kiss.
suddenly, max walks in and sits down next to Lucas.
max: hey guys!
max says with a slight smile on her face.
Lucas stays silent.
will, mike, dustin: hey.
max looks around at everyone's dull expressions
max : is something wrong?
Lucas: max, are you a lesbian.
max looks at Lucas very fast.
max: what, NO. i'm into boys!
Lucas was obviously not believing her.
Lucas: you and el, are you together?
the other boys look at max, then Lucas, then each other.
max: oh my god- DEFINITELY not, she's just a friend!
max's pale face turns to a rosy red colour.
Lucas: how could you move on so fast? You broke up with me because of her, HM?
max: what- no Lucas, you don't understand.
Lucas: Or did you date while we were together!
max: so you're accusing me of cheating on you? fuck you Lucas.
max storms off leaving the others shocked, staring at Lucas.
max's pov

max ran down the halls to the gym, she waited there, as lunch would be over at 1:50, it was 1:47. and as gym was her next class. when she remembered-
max: oh shit- i'm supposed to meet el.
max runs through the gym to the locker room, where many people were changing already, into their gym clothes. max quickly changed then walked out the door that leads to behind the gym.
el wasn't there yet. max waited patiently, leaning on the brick wall.
max shivers.
max: shit, it's cold.
she rubs her arms.
max: why do we have to wear shorts for gym.
she rolls her eyes.

max adjusts her pony tail as she waits for el.
-suddenly max hears a sweet voice calling her name.
el: max!!
max turns around and smiles faintly.
el: hey- are you okay?
max nods.
max: mhm. me and Lucas just got into a argument.
el: oh okay, do you wanna talk about it?
max: no no, it's nothing really. tell me why you told me to meet you here.
el: ...
el kisses max's soft lips.
el: that's why. i like you, max.
max's face turns bright red, she thinks about what Lucas said.
el looks at max frowning.
el: i'm sorry-
max looks back at el and kisses her for longer.
max: what if- i like you too.
