max rolls her eyes.
principal: well, miss mayfield, violence is never the answer here, i'm afraid we're going to have to suspend you- for 3 days, that's the protocol for fighting.
max: WHAT!! cmon!! what about troy bullying my friends constantly?!
principal: we'll deal with mr Bradley. Now i must call your mother.
max: she won't answer.
principal: why?
max: she is at work.
principal: then we'll call her work.
max holds back tears. she doesn't want to be in trouble with her mother, nor does she want to be suspended.
max: this is so stupid!
they finally get ahold of susan. (max's mom)
the principal explains the situation.
max could hear her mother yelling through the phone.
principal: miss mayfield, your mother would like to talk with you.
max takes the phone.
max: hi.
susan: MAXINE MAYFIELD, YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE. YOU'RE GROUNDED. GROUNDED FOR A MONTH- NO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU GO HOME AND WAIT UNTIL I FINISH WORK.
susan hangs up.
principal: miss mayfield, you may go to your locker to collect your stuff, then go home.
max rolls her eyes and storms out of the office.
to max's suprise, el was standing at her locker with a hall pass.
el: soo... what did he say?
max: i'm suspended for 3 days. grounded for life, probably will be dead by the time i get home..!
max breathes shakily.
max tries to open her locker but it gets stuck.
max: THIS STUPID LOCKER.
max hits the locker.
el: are you okay?
max breaks down.
el stands there shocked.
el: i'll take that as no..
el hugs max.
max puts her head on els shoulder and el gently pats her back.
el: i'll get it open for you.
max nods.

that was... different. max was crying.. but i have to help her. i told her to step back.
max wiped her tears.
el raises her hand and concentrates on the locker door.
BOOM.
the locker door flings open
el: there you go, good as new!!
el smiles at max.
