el holds my hand and we walk towards the cafeteria.
el: before we go in, how are you feeling, love?
max: it felt good to talk, i guess.
el: and how was your session?
max looks down.
max: it was fine.
el lightly sighs.
el: mrs kelley can help you, max.
max shrugs her shoulders.
max: you sound like my mom.
el: let's just go in, okay?
max nods.
the two walk in the cafeteria, the boys stare at the two girls, and max looks around and sees troy; staring her dead in the eyes with a 'you better watch out' look.
i glare at troy before being distracted by a voice.
mike: hey!
i turn to mike.
max: hi.
mike: it's been awhile, how are you?
max: i'm fine, you?
mike: i'm great.
max: cool.
el and max sit down.
everyone stays silent.
until el breaks the silence.
el: max, are you hungry? i can get us food.
max shakes her head 'no.'
el: okay, i'm gonna go get some food. i'll be back soon.
suddenly troy approach's us and drops his tray down.
troy: hey maxine, you better watch your back..
max: do you want me to punch you again?
troy scoffs.
troy: i'll get you when you least expect it, and now that your psychotic brother 'billy' is dead, there's just one down to go!
troy: and i'll show you no mercy.
troy walks away laughing.
lucas: what a dick.
dustin: tell me about it.
mike: he's not gonna do shit to you, max.
i stare into the distance.
will: yea- you okay, max?
will: max..?
dustin: max!!?
el walks over to us, and slams her tray down.
el: everything okay..?
mike: yeah, max zoned out. i think.
el: ohh.
el snaps in max's face, causing max to literally snap back to reality.
max turns her head back to everyone else.
max: sorry, i was just thinking about something.
el: okay!
el gobbles down her food.
everyone stares at el.
el: what?!
els mouth is filled with food.
max: slow down, you're gonna choke!
el says some inaudible things while her mouth is full.
gibberish...
the boys begin to laugh, A LOT.
max looks at el and smiles.
el picks up a piece of her bread and throws it at max.
max gasps.
max: oh you wanna??!
max picks up the beans off of els tray and throws them at her.
the boys begin to join in.
everyone at the table is now throwing food at eachother.
el starts tickling max.
max: AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHGAHAGGHAHAH STOPPPP!!! AHAHAHAHHAHAGAGAHAHAHAH!
max gently hits els hand but el doesn't stop.
max tries to back up but falls off the bench.
the others join in on the laughing while max is on the floor, basically crying of laughter.
el gives max a hand.
max sits back down, but the two don't stop holding hands under the table.
el smiles at max.
the laughing dies down.
