will, mike, and el. but... el had no clue max was tagging along.
mike: where is she..
el: where is who?
mike looks at will then sighs.
mike: we have to tell her.
el: tell me what?
will sighs.
will: no need.
will points to some girl skating in the shopping center parking lot making her way towards el, mike, and will.
el stared at the girl.
el: MAX?
the girl gets off her skateboard and looks up.
max: el?
max looks at will then mike, then at her shoes.
mike: surprise..?
the girls stay silent.
will: how about we get some dinner..? i'll pay.
the boys each take a girls arm and pulls them through the crowds.. slowly.. they made their way to the food court.
will guys everyone a burger and a drink from burger king.
mike chews loudly.
max looks up at mike.
max: could you chew with your mouth closed?
mike: you know max, maybe this breakup is another thing i can make fun of you for.. just like you and.. what is his name.... sam? from California. and Lucas.
just as max is about to yell and mike she notices el staring at his drink.
BOOM
all of a sudden, mikes drink explodes.
max and will flinch.
will: what the..
mike: oh shit.
max looks up at el who is wiping her nose and smiling.
max: mike.. will. why'd you invite me here.
will: we d-
mike: we didn't want el to be a third wheel..!
max: oh so that's all i am to you guys?
mike stays silent.
el: so you brought her here, knowing that we just broke up.. so i wouldn't be alone?
mike nods.
el: ohhh.. or did you bring her here to find her a new girlfriend?
max: what the fuck..? you really think id move on that fast?
el: happened with you and Lucas.
max: you broke up with ME. if anyone would be moving on fast it's YOU.
el: THEN WHY'D YOU ACCEPT THEIR OFFER TO COME HERE?
max: CAUSE I WANTED TO BUY SOMETHING FOR YOU TO APOLOGIZE FOR BEING A BITCH. CAUSE I LOVE YOU.
mike and will look at each other.
el stays silent.
max: screw this. im going home.
max walks off.
at this point, max was holding back tears.
mike: i'll go get her.
mike runs after max.
----------- ELS POV ツ
el: i made a mistake.. breaking up with max.. i loved her- i still do.. but now won't she loose feelings..?
will: el.. you were unhappy.
el: well now because of me- look.. there's coke all over the floor, table, you, max, and mike. max is angry.
will sighs.
will: she's not angry, she's upset.
el: yeah, because of me!
will hugs her.
will: let's go get ice cream, but first we'll wait for mike.
el: what about max?
will: she won't come back.. i mean, unless mike says some really 'kind' shit - which we all know won't happen.
el sighs.
----------- MIKES POV!
i chase after max.
mike: MAX!! wait up!!
i run after her.
shit.. how is she so fast.
i pause for a second to catch my breath, when i look up she's gone. probably lost in the crowd - or outside. there is no way i'm making my way through that stampede of people.
i walk back to the other two dissatisfied.
will: what's wrong?
mike: i didn't get to talk to her.
will: you should've let me talk to her.. we bond well..?? i think..
mike: she's just dramatic.
el rolls her eyes.
el: i'm gonna go to the gap.
the boys nod as el walks off.
---------- ELS POV
i felt bad for making max upset, i should've never broke up with her.. i mean she's going through a lot of stuff right now, and went through alot. maybe that's why she was acting like that. anyways, i decided to go to gap to buy her something..
'there's nothing that max would like here.' el thought. that's when it hit her.
el- the music store!
el blurted.
el runs up the escalator, pushing through the crowds. finally, el makes it to the shop.
'what songs would max listen too..!' el thought. 'maybe Kate bush..' el picked up a cassette.. it says.. 'hounds of love, Kate bush, running up that hill.'
perfect!! i'll get that for her. maybe she'll like it.
el picks up the cassette and walks up to the register.
el pays and walks out of the store. now i'll i got to do is make her a card, get a gift bag, and give it to max at school tomorrow!
